  1. The team is playing well without him in the lineup. Not his fault, but they want to leave the team as is. He’ll be the first to swap in if someone starts declining.

Is what it is right now. We need wins eary and starting 0-2 didn’t help.

I do think it’s not nearly as bad to have him get box time as people make it out to be.

At a certain point though he needs to play either with the big club or Utica.

Holtz is a bit of a project. He clearly has nothing to prove at the AHL level, so working him along is best.

Having a high potential player sit and slowly get accustomed to the NHL pace isn’t always the worst thing. Practicing daily with NHL players, being surrounded by them, and learning the grind is still beneficial even if he isn’t playing every night.

We need to normalize the fact that the NHL is hard.

He will get his opportunity. Right now I can see him slotting in on the 3rd line (which I’m not entirely sure why he isn’t other than maybe the 3rd line playing super well). I can see him getting time on PP2 as well.

He’ll get time in the top 6 at some point when someone inevitably gets hurt or sick for a bit.

I don’t think there’s a need to think too much about him not playing just yet.

I’m not worried about Holtz, he’ll get his chance again this season.

We’ve been analytically dominate and on a hot streak. The Devils don’t need a set « plan » for him, he just needs to be ready.

I’m just baffled by Ruff with the whole 11/7 thing. Gotta run four eventually. Holtz could certainly fit in on the PP which hasn’t been great. Especially with the shot he has.

Holtz is not good enough for the NHL.. its the sad truth people. The kid can’t skate or keep up in this league and it clearly shows.

This blog has been straight dogshit since they changed the name honestly

Pretty early on to start compalining about his ice time especially in the midst of a win streak.
