@Kraken de Seattle

ça m’a échappé désolé. 1. My midseason grades:

    Forwards:

Grubauer – Way too many shots being scored that most goalies make.

Was spoiled in Colorado by his defenseman. Exposed now. Grade D

    Driedger – Just a goalie…nothing special here. Grade C-

  2. I just gave up on the team. Maybe they'll get good in years 3-5 , but I won't be holding my breath.

  3. you assured me before the season that the Kraken weren't trying to tank, do you still feel that way?

  4. While there was a few players that we probably shouldn’t have taken in the draft , I honestly feel like the worst problem is coach Hakstol . I dunno something about other fans(especially philly fans) pretty much laughing at us that we took him and the choices Hakstol makes … I dunno maybe it’s just me . Hoping we at least turn this around and not turn into another Mariners situation .. please hockey gods be kind to us 👏🏻

  5. Dude… I lived the bad days of the early 90s then the dynasty of the lates 90s-00s of the DETROIT RED WINGS. You bet I am happy to have lived that era as a fan !!!(Now its endless desolation in detroit)!
Sorry young fans : This Gen-X er was there so you could hear the tales of years past, don't Ok X-er Me !!!!

  6. Meh, I'm just happy we have NHL hockey in Seattle. We were never going to be Las Vegas and this is really just par for the course for typical expansion teams. It can probably only go up from here. 🙂

  7. honestly, i just got into hockey, as a resident of Northern Cali. Couldn’t vibe with the Sharks. Kraken has become my hockey team of choice and I’m kinda hyped by their mere existence!!

  8. Honestly, i think Vegas was the problem with Seattle this year. Because Vegas entered the League first, they got to make deals that alot of people either didn't think twice about, or when they did, they didn't alter it enough to not still be highly beneficial for the Golden Knights, and they went to the Stanley Cup Finals losing in 5 games to the Washington Capitals. When Seattle came around, people remembered what happened with Vegas, and didn't make deals with the Kraken like they did 4 years ago with the Golden Knights, leading to the trash team we currently have in the Emerald City.

  9. Gee something must be wrong. I never thought Seattle Picked to win. I thought they picked to make money and get 1-2 FA for next season. I still think Ron is going to be one crafty GM and is already thinking of next season. I mean look at the Seattle Supersonics or the Mariners. They did not have great first year seasons. Too funny, the Mariners are still trying to make the playoffs. Unless they get a 3rd baseman and another pitcher I feel they will fall short again. The West is very tough. If you think about the Supersonics Bob Rule was the big player and most people in Seattle don't remember him. So did Seattle do the right thing? Of course they did. Season tickets sold out in 20 min, Sweaters sales going off the roof, and the excitment of a new hockey team was fantastic. I think that Seattle is doing exactly whet they set out to do…. make money, Seems like Seattle is always the money Franchise team and the guys who trade talent away. The real question is what will the ream look like next year.

  10. Your premise is wrong, sorta click-bait territory.
Historically, expansion teams have done no better than the Kraken, and in fact have often been worse.
This is excepting Vegas because of their never to be repeated wheeling and dealing cleverness.

  11. Another great video. Been enjoying all your videos since before the expansion draft. I love the Kraken. They absolutely nailed every aspect of the creation of this team, from the name to the colors, to the uniforms, to the utterly beautiful arena. The only thing they didn’t get right is the team itself. I think Francis bungled the draft. Truly bungled it. He may be one of the greatest NHL players of all time, but as a GM, I think a squirrel throwing darts and a board of players would have done about as well. There was so much talent left on the table (I will always be baffled by not taking Tarasenko). But no worries…I have confidence Francis will totally nail the next expansion draft…oh wait 🤦🏼‍♂️ Also…hard to predict how terrible Gru would have been. In fairness, that did seem like a home-run of a pick. No one could have predicted Gru would have been the goalie equivalent of Swiss cheese. So I’ll just chalk that up to bad luck. The only consolation is that season tickets will hopefully be easier to get next year haha. Keep up the great work! Hopefully we can somehow turn this thing around in the next year or two. Go Kraken:)

  12. Okay, I get where you're coming from, but if you look at the numbers they are about on par with a normal (as in Non Vegas) expansion team. There are probably other picks they could have made, but, Geez, most of the deep sea monsters are good players and I, for one, am unwilling to lose any one of the regular players. For Heaven's sake, we are only halfway through the FIRST season, and yet, every time we lose there is major chest beating. I am very disappointed in you for using the word bad, BTW. This group is capable of playing a good game, and they have. I mean, they have beat the best teams in the NHL (Yeah and lost to the worst). I expect the upcoming trades will fix the depth and correct some of the, admittedly, egregious acquisitions. Patience, dang it! GO KRAKEN!

  13. Hiho hope you, your wife and mini-kraken doing good, has bin quite a time since I wrote a comment. It’s really hard to watch as many games of the Kraken and Preds + one NFL Game of each tv slot and gave you your klicks that you deserve for the (to me still) great content. With 6 hours in front of ET 90% Kraken games start at 4AM MET and this honestly is way more exhausting as I expected -.- so sorry for not so many interactions at the last couple of weeks :/

As you may remember I was totally on fire after the kraken pick up Gruuu and dreamed about the conference championship game. Half way thru the season the world looks different especially the win ratio seems to be downrite awful and drastically lower than expected at first. The longer I think about this, the better it looks to me. Most important not a single one of the expansion teams besides Vegas and Floridas first season achieved significantly more wins than Seattle does, if we take in count the team wasn’t build to win now, what to me is the 100% correct way to go! This highly loved clown group knights kinda stuck and taking more steps back how longer their draft is gone. What do they have to show up? The stupidest helmets in all of sports all over the planet, mediocre jerseys, dumping Vegas-Legend Flowers out of the window in stead to pay the respect he deserves from them and yes a outrageously good first season BUT! without a Cup, so they didn’t achieve the goal they build for. Bolt prediction: they won’t gonna get the ultimate price before the Kraken put the fingers on it!

In my opinion the biggest issue of this new Franshise is that crying, clueless, pesty fanbase which seemingly loves to blame and criticize every little mistake and really thought this league is a joke full of trashteams „we“ crushing straight out of the gates. This people killed so much of my passion and joy that iam angry to myself why I can’t resist that morons.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s far away being perfect, some picks didn’t clicked as expected, the guys needed more time to settle down a halfway decent defense as hoped, a huge amount of shots just lacking for luck to take bounces in our way and the biggest expected strength, the goaltending stat wise is just enormous disappointing. Neither Gruuu or Driedger lived up to expectations at this point. Or not? I saw about 35 games live and 100% and just disagree with that quote, both Goalies acting better than the statistic looks like. Single blackouts hurting us so often, too often! and this number of blackouts has to get lower, also especially „my“ showstopper Philipp needs to stop more big chances and just denie more 100% goals. He still! is capable being a top3 at least top5 Goaltender in this league and he shows that nearly every game (WE WONT TALK ABOUT THAT ARIZONA DESASTER!!! Understood? That never had taking place! 😛 ) not consistently enough and overall under his lvl but trust me, he will going to be exact what he’s payed like and he will single handed win games and playoff series! What really gets me a positive feeling is that lvl of competitiveness in most games, maybe not this season anymore. In the near future, with a handful pickups (cap is enough there) the puck luck will switch a bit more in our favor and that will result in more Ws out of that close looses.

At last it’s funny but we looking the exact same way back to the picks literally each and every one 😀 so I’ve got nothing to say about this and just wanna end with the best wishes to your family stay safe AND CHEER UP FOR THE KRAKEN! #squiDSquat!!!

  14. I saw this season coming in net I saw the German as a mens league level goalie before Colorado so don’t class me in your comment “nobody “

  15. Their roster looked pretty good, their defence looked like a top 10 core, their tandem looked like a top 5 one, and the forward group looked below average. I blame the coaches for this and the kraken should hire Dave Tippett. Sure he was fired and didn’t do well this year with Edmonton but his philosophy is crafted for a team weak on forward, look at the 2012 Arizona coyotes, their leading scorer had around 60 points. But they were solid on D and made things easier for the goalie, that team went to the WCF and their roster is very similar to Seattle, Dave hakstol sucks.

  16. I live in WA State. Been waiting for a NHL Seattle team since 1994. This was the WORST NHL season ever. I couldnt even watch the games on TV, and i have cable.
