  1. Really wish the Oilers base would just pump Skinner's tires even a little bit instead of this messaging that he'll never be good enough to be our number one!
None of these targets are as exciting as Skinner on a tear!

  2. I'd rather pay Gibson 9m dollars and eat up Bobrovsky's 10m dollar contract than trade a 2nd rnd pick for Georgiev. Let me remind you that we are trying to find a reliable starter, not betting on a tandem goalie and HOPE either they or Skinner can come out on top and carry us in the playoffs. We need stability, something that I haven't felt in our goaltending system for a long time.
Bob sounds nice, but like you said, what is the cost? It's definetly not gonna be cheap since Florida is retaining 50%. I will be willing to trade a 1st for Bob. He can help Stuey's development and if he's set for retirement, Stuey will then be ready to become our starter. I don't see Edmonton going for him though unless we miss out in Free Agency.

  3. I think it'll be Georgiev or Husso… Georgiev the more likely of the two.

  4. After recent events and what I just heard of Jared Bednar casting a bit of shade at Kuemper after Game 5 Inspiration just hit me. How about this prediction….
TB Lightning win the Stanley cup in Game 7 in Colorado by like 3 goals.
More shade is cast toward Kuemper's way. Kuemper retaliates by saying something not so positive back towards the Av's Coaching staff.
Avalanche sign Josh Manson for 5m x3yrs
Kuemper then asks to be traded shortly after.
Avalanche agree to shop him around.
Darcy Kuemper, Josh Manson and Nico Sturm get traded to Edmonton.
I would have thrown Nichushkin in there but thats asking a lot and I doubt they would trade him off.
Going back the other way are the following:
Tyson Barrie, Jesse Puljujarvi, Zach Kassian, Kyle Turris (or Scevior) and 2nd Draft pick 2023
Edmonton knocks out Colorado in the conference final rematch and win the Cup! Kuemper is the goalie star next year for Edmonton and gets retribution knowing he helped knock out the Av's and attained the Stanley cup!

  5. No Canadian goalies?….The Oilers don't have any Russian's on their roster. One just snubbed us for Vancouver.Lots of Ukrainian's in this town. It might be awkward these days with what is happening in the World…So why bring one in?… Similar situation for Puuljaarvi. (although people actually love Finn's) Now that Mikko is gone, he is the only Finn on the team and STILL struggles with English. Maybe a team that has more Finn's would be a better fit for him? …..Just sayin'
By the way, I like the production on your intro. Very pro looking. I still remember when you were first just starting out.. Keep it going.

  6. Will be interesting to see which goalie ends up in Oil country. Still believe Skinner should play at least 30 games this season to see if he will be a #1 goalie. Raycroft will have a better feel right out of training camp with the goaltending situation. Question is who will we have. Great vid Patrick

  7. Anton Khudobin, Thomas Greiss , Martin Jones, David Rittich, Scott Wedgewood, Keith Kinkaid, Magnus Hellberg, Carter Hutton, all could be looking to sprout roots elsewhere instead of sitting on the bench. Can ya do the comparison of these guys?

  8. I would prefer to go after Keumper even if it's for 2 or 3 years until Skinner is ready for that number 1 role. But I think Skinner should get more than 30 games to get his feet wet.

  9. I like Gibson, but dont think he moves north of the parallel. Georgiev or Husso would be interesting tandem with Skinner. I think Woody will have a lot of input to share on what kind of Goalie will work with his system

  10. Happy to see this being talked about so much! Goaltending needs to be our main focus right now! 😊👍💙🧡

  11. Bobrovsky would be a 40-50 win goalie but that cap won’t be bringing him in. Kuemper Or Gibson would be a good fit but Cap going against us to with Duncan smith and Kane. We’re in a tough boat rn

  12. I think Georgiev could cost slightly more. Like a 2nd rounder + a completementary pick. A first rounder would be too much. And I don't think he's a great option. He's untested. They need a stable guy next to Skinner, who is also untested.

Gibson is a better goalie than the Ducks defense allowed him to be towards the end of last season. It might not be the Oilers' greatest strength, but he'd do a lot better in a competing team. Solid option, but costly. I think you are about right with the price range.

Vanecek and Samsonov – Same issue as with Georgiev, tho they have slightly more experience. I think Georgiev is better though. I don't see why you give those guys a higher trade value. A 2nd plus a completementary pick here too, I'd say. Or well, if the prospect is a recovery project, 2nd + prospect works both here and for Georgiev, I guess.

Bobrovsky isn't as bad of an idea as it might seem. At the tail of his contract, are McDavid and Draisaitl even around anymore? On the other hand, if they are willing to stay, that contract could be part of what ruins it.

  13. Gorgiev or Samsonov would be my choices… Also maybe they can get rid of 9.25 M AAV plug Nurse, he sucks… I doubt anyone would take that contract though… GO OIL GO!!!

  14. I pray every night we make a deal with the Jets for Hellebuyck. He doesn't want to stay in Winnipeg.

  15. Seems Kuemper is on the market now, and might be a good fit if Oilers can't snag Campbell. Bruins might be looking to unload Ullmark at some point, since Swayman seems to be their choice as starter. Bruins need cap space. Otherwise they'd keep Ullmark until they're certain about Swayman. Drieger is another possibility. Overall, the quality available is somewhat average.
