Just not enough effort on their parts. I can’t help but feel like keefe is being hamstringed by dubas. There’s no fucking way keefe doesn’t see some of the stuff we see but change is seldom applied. ( holl 💩ing everywhere and often being the 6th skater for opposing teams, bunting looking like a 3rd liner at best, stapled to our top 2 elite nhl talents) Fuck the players feelings, it’s time to win at any cost. There’s no fucking way a pissed of keefe doesn’t wanna shake things up. It’s pure speculation but I feel like he’s being held back from fully coaching this team. Someone said it in this post on r/hockey, keefe’s done more for the team than they have done for him lately and I agree.

keefe is a generational coach and being saddled with clifford and simmonds has to be wearing on him. it’s a nightmare that these types of players are still on this team in 20f*cking22. he’s clearly vocalizing a need for more speed and skill in the lineup.

It’s not that the players can’t go out and get it, it’s that they are choosing not too. It’s been said many times but there is zero killer instinct. Same old shit.
I am saying this now, and I will say it again even if they win the presidents trophy.
We all know they’ll be « fine » and maybe be in contention for the division as the season goes on, but I am solidly in « I’ll believe it when I see it » territory for playoff success.

Someone or multiple someone’s (players) should have been traded for a different look and feel when they lost to Montreal. I like our players, but sometimes the current iteration of something doesn’t work for whatever reason.
This is just same old. I’m not saying they won’t make the playoffs or have a great season but when the chips are down these guys will fold again.
