This is not my personal opinion, but the league’s reaction will be « Yeah, whatever, dude. You’re not a profitable fan, anyway. You’re a leech. Someone who who doesn’t make us any money. but thinks we owe them something because they follow our team. »

BTW, before you yell at me, I am also just such a leech, but the difference is that I don’t think the team owes me free broadcasts, or whatever. If I can watch it, I’m grateful. If I can’t, I’ll follow in the press. What I won’t do it post bitter reproaches to the interwebs. Because I am not an entitled, freeloading loser.

Am I the only person who had the theme song to Black Sails playing while I read this?

I paid for NHLTV for like 3 seasons before I got tired of the nationally-televised game blackouts, so I switched to pirate streams. Now the only thing I pay for to watch hockey (other than my internet service) is a VPN. Now I can watch literally every game that is televised anywhere for $5/month. If the NHL is going to make it difficult for fans to watch games, then they don’t deserve our subscription fees.

Or just be a fan of an out of market team. There’s a few games that’ll be blacked out but those games have been blacked out for years now.
