New rule: decline every penalty and never pull the goalie. Having the man advantage is a crutch for us.
Special teams are a genuine issue but we knew this last season. Clearly it has not been addressed. Embarrassing really.
Imagine if other teams just sat a guy down once they were up a goal. We would never be able to come back.
How about we start on time next game? Playing the Flyers is gonna be a nightmare if we do the same thing we did tonight.
Can’t play 10 minutes of hockey and expect to win.
Special teams are atrocious. Worse than last year.
Paul Maurice has done nothing to show he’s had a positive impact.
Barkov and Reino need to score. They’re not doing enough.
Bob mediocre, once again.
Good news is if you fix the special teams, this team will win a ton of games.
Barkov and Reino will eventually get going.

I’m not upset we lost, good teams lose all the time, I’m upset the team decided to only show up to play during the last like 10 minutes
I think the fact that our offense and PP was abysmal through the first 50 overshadowed the fact that Bob was a net negative for us. The Hawks are not a good team, and they did not generate many chances. Two of their goals were pretty weak.
I so tired of our special teams. I’m so damn tired of it. Also please move Reinhart somewhere else, anywhere. Dude can’t skate, can’t pass, and can’t hit an empty net to save his life. He’s so snake bitten it’s like the dude fell onto the set of Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford peaced out and left him in the den of cobras.
There isn’t any excuse to go 0/6 on the power play.
If you want to justify it and stay it’s Maurice’s system and it’s slower, or that we are in a good spot above .500 (this early in the season), or that our top line isn’t producing and we are still winning; I get it. I absolutely get it.
But 45 games in, you do not win without a power play unit. You just don’t. The team isn’t abysmal. The team isn’t garbage, this team will absolutely make the playoffs. Without a DECENT, I want to enunciate that, power play we will not advance through any playoff round.
