Unquestionably one of the all-time best regular season Avalanche wins I've personally ever seen/heard. I was at the Vegas-Avs game when Landeskog finally won it in the shootout in 2018. It too was a phenomenal goalie showcase (Varlamov & Fleury). I also loved our victory in Tampa Bay early last season (another shootout win — Makar with the game-winner). But this one was every bit as good as those, and maybe even better. So many near scoring chances! Georgiev. Stood. Tall! 10/10 — Magnificent!👏👏👏🎉
Shesterkin is so elite, he might scare me more than Vasi. Georgie played out of his mind and went toe to toe with him though, what a goalie duel. Also how about that PK? this team is starting to round into shape, still need more from the middle 6 though. Shout out to Rodrigues on that gorgeous SO goal

Makar and Fox were the two best defensemen in NCAA hockey in 2019. Four seasons later they are probably the two best defensemen in the NHL.

The game was great the 2 Goalies weren’t outstanding, but I saw in that game what I saw last year the Rangers were give up change after chance after chance,,,, NYR will be really good in the regular season in the playoffs they won’t be able to hold that up,,, Igor can only do so much,,, the Avs are still developing not worried and there’s some holes that will be filled at the deadline ,,, and it seems like we have a real starter since St Patrick(he’s not that good but I see he’s a #1)
I think we have all come to the consensus that Georgiev's nickname is "Gorgeous Georgie". He looks great. We may see the Rangers several more times this season…if you catch my drift.
Chris says coaches wouldn't abuse the challenge yet they sit there and challenge basically everytime a goalie is brushed by the wind of a passing player and anytime an offside is somewhat close
So I arrived at my hotel room turn on the game and NY scored within 60 sec. Almost turned it off glad I didn’t because it was an awesome OT and Shootout. Go Avs!
The High stick call..the broadcast said the New York player pushed Toews stick into Makar for the high stick. That's why the penalty was legitimate. Went to Toronto and they agreed

Remember Mack’s rookie season when the Avs were average at best and Varly basically willed them to the #1 seed that season? Georgiev starting to remind me of Varly that season but with a juggernaut of a team in front of him. Too early to call it now but we may have that young guy who’s just coming into his own and takes that leap to elite level this season. He’s now made clutch 3rd period saves in the MN, Vegas and Rangers games. Avs going to be almost impossible to beat if they have a goalie that can win them games on the nights they don’t have their best stuff 😁
We all love Nate but He can try too much sometimes . Not every goal has to be hi-lite reel quality.

I swear they were not trying to score on that undeserved power play. They looked very much like they were just killing a couple minutes. Very odd that they can't overturn a call that is an obvious mistake. But, I wouldn't want to see challenges get too out of hand either.

I wasn’t convinced about Georgiev until this game. That game felt like a better goaltending game then any game from Kemps last year.
I thought the high-stick was because the Ranger's player lifted Toews stick which hit Makar.14:50
Wow Georgiev I am starting to believe is the answer at net for us. He so far is way better then Kempfer or Grubaur that’s exciting watch out!
I knew Georgiev would be good but I thought he had to work on position between the pipes but no, even in that aspect, he's amazing, the guy always well positionned
I was thinking WTF KYLE YES WE SHOULD review penalties and then I thought of the coach for the lightning and thought…games would end at 3AM. Challenges would have to be limited in number and time spent.

I said it before he played one game for the Avs, Georgiev is a very good goalie. Now he has the chance to show it as the no. 1 goalie. I did not like the scene before the 2-2 equalizer. MacKinnon loses the puck in the offensive zone against Fox, Fox continues to the Avs zone, MacKinnon stops. You cannot do that! You have to follow him and try to avoid an offensive shot or pass. Fox continued and scored the goal. I do not have a problem when Nate loses the puck against a top d man but stopping and letting the guy just get away is not the right move. The forwards must go back and help the defense. Thanks to Georgiev, they got the second point, too. Please send Kaut and Maltsev to the Eagles and give a chance to Bowers and Olausson!
Said it on Instagram, Ill say it here too. This game reminded me so much of the epic old school Roy/Brodeur battles. Shot for shot, save for save. These two goalies are going to be tied together like that for awhile. Looking forward to years of this battle.
