Let’s get that No Quit in New York attitude back.

  2. agent7300

DQ knew this team well and exposed its holes

    copycat league

  3. jthomas694

People will claim this team isn’t fighting – they clearly are. Effort isn’t the problem – it’s that this team is getting outschemed. Everyone knows what we’re trying to do on the PP. No one controls the puck, no one gets in front of the net. Everything has to be a tick tack goal or a one timer. Mika and Panarin are so good that eventually they’ll start scoring but right now we are in trouble and this division is too good for us to go through this for too long

    I hate everything about tonight

  5. PhillyJ739

I put way too much energy into this team. I’m pretty frustrated right now but what can I do? Effectively zero

I’m just really hoping that GG can shake things up enough for the guys to take notice. Lane Lambert scratched two of the Isles’ more “veteran” players in the past couple of games, and they responded with a good game as a team

Is it too late to suck hard for Bedard?

    PAAAAANNNNNIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    calm down everyone.

I know we will bounce back. The problem is that this the Metro and the East in general is far too good to go weeks without winning hockey games.

We need to figure it out and go on a run.

Sounds like a Mets game in here. Blaming Halak is like blaming a Mets pitcher even though the team can’t hit!

That feeling when the fish sticks eat you…

I keep telling myself that we’re just in a bit of a funk right now. The pieces are there. When it’s clicking, it’s fun to watch. But when even one thing feels off, it just turns stale quickly. I’d really like to see us make more in-game adjustments and take advantage of more second chance opportunities. Got a big back-to-back this weekend where getting at least three points should be the goal.

I’d rather us be going through this now than later. Frustrated about tonight but cautiously optimistic as we get healthier and more in the swing of things.

I didn’t get to watch tonight so idk how individual players looked but everyone knew Kreider was going to regress. The key, imo, was Laf and Kakko softening that blow with more point production of their own. And they haven’t done it yet. 5 points between the two of them through 7 games.

But maybe they looked good tonight and the shots just aren’t going in. At least I hope that’s what it is.

God that was awful. Halak wasn’t even the main problem here – he wasn’t horrible for a backup goalie. Whether or not he should have started this game is another question. We need to figure out why we cannot get puck to net. 41 SOG and not one goal is absolutely not normal. Our excuse can’t be that we’re getting goalied every time, and if that’s the case we need to learn how to shoot more creatively. They’re reading our minds.

My gf just hit me with this gem. « If they are so bad, why dont you just cheer for a different team? »

Ride or die boo, ride or die

But god damn this game was so shit.

  15. NYRangers1313

We put up a lot of shots but we need to crash the net more. They look like they are afraid to get infront of the net all of the sudden.

  16. bourbonandgaming

All I will say is I called it kreider is returning to his Houdini form again so far just disappears and reappears some games didn’t notice him at all this game

  17. ColdYellowGatorade

Oh shit, is this the r/PanicCiti sub?

  18. ArchMalone

I missed tonight’s game so I can’t properly be a doomer with y’all. Let’s have some faith. We need to light a fire under our ass, especially in this division, but all hope is not lost.

  19. mbsmilford

What happened to the team that played Tampa Bay in the opener. We need to see that team. C’mon boys I know you got this.

  20. SwarthySphere87

The Rangers had one 4-game losing streak all of last season— the ECF v TB.

They’ve matched that total in Game 8 this season

  21. ccasazza

After partaking in much doomerism tonight. I am now gonna take some hopium:

    – it can be puck luck which regresses to the mean
    – Halak 2/3 nights is not likely to happen again
    – We took the defending champs to OT and outplayed them
    – tonight was a back to back
    – it’s still early to get momentum back

That being said. If this losing streak extends further will be harder and harder. The Isles losing streak last year fucked their whole season up

  22. hojbjerfc

I was worried with the analytic revamp of the front office that we would be hiring those fucking corsi guys instead of useful analytics. Hockey has 2 sides in analytics, the useful stuff like zone entries and expected goals and that stuff, and then fucking corsi, the worst stat ever. Just throwing shots at net randomly is not a winning strategy, this team needs to start working shots and being creative, rather than this volume shitting shit

  23. UsedToBeBradfordTwo

Othmann is too good for the OHL. We know Krav can’t step foot on NHL ice without getting hurt. We know Goat is fast but has stone hands. Just give me Othmann

  24. huskyferretguy1

First Yankees and now we lose to the Islanders. It’s been a rough week…despite NYCFC advancing in playoffs

  25. jkman61494

I know I know it’s a broken record. But when you see the obvious holes this team has right now, and the laughable lack of depth we have and fans are asking how stuff like this happens.

It will always start with trading a first line right winger in Buchnevich for a dime a dozen 4th liner who frankly looks no different than any dude we bring up from Hartford and made the decision to trade a 3rd rounder for Ryan Reaves and use that money for him rather than extend Buchnevich whom we could have afforded for 2021-2023 and then traded in the upcoming offseason. I mean it’s not hyperbole. Reaves’s money is almost dollar for dollar the raise Buch received on his new deal

It honestly all spirals from there. Just as an example

–We wouldn’t have traded out a 2022 1st and a 2023 2nd and we’d still have someone like Morgan Barron in our system playing 4th line center (and no need to sign Carpenter) because we wouldn’t have needed Copp.

Disastrous transactions like that are how emerging teams unexpectedly see Cup windows slam shut in their faces. We had a damn good run last year.

But with the horrible lack of depth on this team right now, the reality is, we may well need to wait 2-3 years to cycle out of some albatross contracts before we can become a truly elite squad. Because we have like $100 in cap space right now. Drury can’t save himself again this year when just a single injury makes our bottom 6 look like a clown show

  26. Nickistheman22

Hard to imagine what can be done at this point. We just flat out suck rn

  27. mixtapemalibumusk

Rough few nights for sure…. tortuous even but were so wildy inconsistent as a team were bound to start winning again shortly

  28. Grouchy-Power-806

It is kind of weird though that our 1OA and 2OA picks haven’t had the impact other teams similar picks have had. I’m not worrying about them long term, but what is the reason for it? You see other teams get impact right away, like Hughes or zegras , or Thompson, but we don’t.

  29. ChaWolfMan

Rock bottom boys. Just brutal to watch

  30. jerejeje

    Wanna hear something absolutely bonkers

Out of the Rangers 5 losses this year, they had 40+ shots in THREE of them.
