@Avalanche du Colorado

Avalanche Win Wild Game 1.

1. Dejavu for oilers again in game 1 but like oilers coach said they are a different animal and honestly I want Darcy back but if Frankie is in it’s not panic time now sound check time I got one for the avs bangs by brick plus mortar and because of the offside call oilers didn’t like so suspicious (feat.Silva Hound & Plexsy)

  2. I really did feel before the game smith was going to get lit up but man they really hung him out to dry and out of all the goalies that played koskinan was the best?

  3. I was hearing something on hockey night in Canada he may have been experiencing blurry vision and couldn’t go on after maybe the puck hit his mask

  4. I actually liked how Francouz looked, he made some huge saves in that last 8 minutes. Watching this game made me realize how freaking good Philip Danault and Jonathan Quick played in that first round lol how the hell do you slow down McDavid down to the point that they did.
Sound check: Hard to Love by One OK Rock, that's how I feel about this game lol I'm glad we are up but my word we have to be better

  5. Sound Check: “Space Jam” Quad City DJ’s. – I thought both teams could hit double digits at one point in this game.

I hope Kuemper is okay. I’m not too nervous about Frankie though. He almost took the goalie position from Gru. If not for injury, he would have. I’m mostly nervous for who our 3rd goalie is. I don’t like any of our options. I’d almost vote to just have 6 skaters instead.

  6. Excellent choice fire it up that whole album is good mafia excellent album by zach

  7. Here in Canada the broadcasters on Sportsnet were saying Kuemper took a few shots up high on chest in the game which could of made him exit the game.

  8. I'm still all jittery after the 3rd period of this game. It's beyond me how you're so Zen about it all 😉 Please, make a 15 minute-long LoA special called "Unlock your Inner Peace with Locked on Avalanche" – a guided session accompanied by a soothing avalanche soundscape 😉
Thanks for being there for us!

  9. Sound Check: "Hell Yeah," Rev Theory.

This game should cement the mentality of not taking the foot off the gas and not take stupid penalties.

  10. Surprised how physical Edmonton played. They are not to be taken lightly.
The Avs need to get it through their collective heads not to turtle up . Why do they take their foot off the gas?
Kuemper is NOT a shut down goalie. So easy to get in his head. People will point to some great games he’s had, but when the bright lights come on, Kuemper does not have that attitude of,”Oh, yeah? Watch this. I’m gonna stick this puck up yours.” You can see that he wilts. Some guys perform great under pressure; they like it. Kuemper does not. He does not relish it.

  11. dude Kyle are you joking. the Blackhawks got the EXACT same call against the Avs several years ago. I learned the rule back then and have always remembered that tag up rule since

  12. I believe it's sustainable if you get multiple people scoring, don't have to rely on one or two to achieve God status. Especially playing a weaker defense. Depth will carry us through.

  13. One thing the Avs have proven this season is that they can win in a lot of different ways. Was incredibly unconventional but at the end of the day, they still came away with a W. Much more to that one obviously but I’d have to write a novel to break it down and I won’t bore anyone with that 😂 Go Avs

  14. The Goalies DO matter . Koskinen came in and played very well, and gave the Oilers a chance . Be interesting if He gets the start tomorrow. Avs need to do a better job clearing their own zone. What a mess. Stop trying to pass the puck out …..got no play? Flip it out and start again. 3 goal leads, 4 goal leads . These games have to be out of reach and kept that way. Glad to see Newhook in. Lots of speed and has a great shot

  15. People keep using the word "possession" when trying to understand the logic behind the delayed offside call. Which confuses them even more.

Teams dump pucks in and create delayed offsides all the time. Players must tag up before they chase the puck down.
That is what happened in this instance. Makar pushed the puck in creating the delayed offside while Val tagged up before Makar touched the puck in the zone.

Here is an example of it occurring before and getting reviewed with the same outcome.

  16. I understand why everyone is concerned but I'm feeling a lot more optimistic. The Avs played really well. Sure our D wasn't consistent with it and we weren't as dominant in the second half but honestly, it looked like Edmonton was a bit frantic. We didn't give up or turtle, they just figured us out a bit and fought like hell to come back. It's the first game and we showed that we can beat them, not just by the score but by how the Avs played. If we give the Avs a day off to slow down, process, and take that confidence into game two, I think we'll see those holes closed and some crazy good hockey.

  17. Hold up. That off-side goal by Makar was a two-pointer. Oilers took a penalty for calling for the review of Makar's goal. Avs scored on that PP to open the 2nd period, increasing the score to 4-2. TWO POINTS for a non-goal. That's the difference in the game. But…we move on. We put that behind us, and we move on. #GoOilers

  18. I've felt Kuemper just hasn't been himself since that eye injury. He's looked unsteady. Granted, when the ice has been so tilted, it's hard to feel in the game and be on it at the same time. Francouz looked poised and moved really well. It might not be horrible to ride him a few games. Great soundcheck, I just saw Black Label again not too long ago.

  19. They won game 1 – Great! I am certain, Coach Bednar did not like the six goals against. You will not be able to win against Tampa or Rangers with that kind of defense. They played a better defense vs STL and they will and must play better in the upcoming games. I am very optimistic that they can win this series, even with Francouz. He is probably the better goalie anyway?!

  20. I am about as serious of an Avalanche fan as they come. Have been since 95. That said I hate the offside call being a goal (I also loved it of course, but I HATE the inconsistency) . I remember the Blackhawks got that same ruling an age ago and that is the only time I have ever seen it otherwise. At this point I am ready to do away with coaches challenge. They honestly just suck… Ok that said…. Good show fellas!! Lets go boys!!

Sound check: "Paranoid" By Black Sabbath. Whether the entire album or just the song is up to you- but hand of doom off of the album sure seems to describe the avs huh?! haha cheers

  21. – "Goal City": Another Chris quote making a fitting episode title.
    – Believe the Makar goal was officiated properly; and didn't Edmonton's challenge of it result in an additional Avalanche goal on the PP?
    – Just an awful outing for Josh Manson (who I like a lot).
    – Glad Chris mentioned Newhook's sweet assist to Compher.
    – Glad Chris mentioned the dumbness (my word) of Landeskog's penalty. Exactly what we did not need. Come on, Captain.
    – Byram looks consistently good. I believe the goals are just a matter of time. Everything else is there.
    – I thought more of Francouz's play than some. Huge stops at the end of the 2nd, for example.
    – Obviously the Keumper situation is of great interest. But I'm certainly not panicking or losing hope without him.
    – Rantanen scoring that goal is no small thing. Look for dividends to follow.
    – Perhaps the worst game I've seen Devon Toews play (wasn't terrible), who's usually the model of consistency.
    – "Weird win" — another apt description of the feeling afterward . . . but we'll take it!

  22. Sound check: "Goals Like Grains of Sand" by Non-Tenacious D

  23. A Good sound check for this game, No Trace- Ball Players https://youtu.be/ca_U12f4YsY
As fans get to watch this series are going to be legend to generations to come like a Guy Lafleur, a Gordie Howe, A Paul Coffey
But theres is no Goaltending at all this series. Hope Kuemper is okay but Like I said before rather have A healthish Frankie over a Dubnyk or Hutch lol

  24. I have seen that exact on side play with Cale multiple times. It happens a handful of times every season and every time people lose their minds over it 😂. I saw it first glance and knew immediately that it was going to count. The rules are the rules.

  25. So it was rumored on the Altitude radio station this morning that Kuempy was having blurred vision, even before the game started and that he self pulled himself because of blurry vision, most likely releated to his past eye injury. No estimate on his return, could be tomorrow, could be next season. :/
Non the less, interesting game to say the least. Next time, I hope they play a bit more defense, for Frankie's sake. But good win, on to the next! Go avs!

  26. Frankie is capable… kudos to the linesman for NOT blowing the whistle on the “offside” play! GoAvsGo

  27. That is not sustainable,& I don't care. In the regular season, process is arguably more important than the results of 1 random game,or random 2 points. But in the playoffs, result is all that matters. Process is something you try to fix on off days-win or lose. But especially this far in the playoffs…now we know worst case we go to Alberta 1-1,best case we force them to win 4 of 5.

You probably can't play quite like that,& even win this series, let alone beat Vasilevsky,& the 2 time Champs,or NY. But who cares for now…that's for somebody,on a different day down the road. Much to fix,& much to be very concerned about. But we are 25% to the Finals,& WHATEVER happens-this has now been a successful, good season,& run. Its been 20 years since we saw a conference final…20 years + 2 games since we saw the last win in a conference final. Hell, actually that 1st goal by Comper…was their 1st goal since game 5 in 2002…as they got shut out in games 6,& 7 by Detroit.

I'm just enjoying watching the amazing talent on both teams. Of course you can't play like that & expect to win a Cup. No chance either team could play like that,& expect to beat Vasilevsky,& the 2 time Champs…or probably even NY. But we have no idea where any of this will go…injuries, how goalies will play etc…they aren't playing TB-they are playing each other. Much to correct,& there are very concerning signs for both teams. But both these teams also proved in previous rounds, they've learned or developed some mental toughness,& resilence, that they didn't seem to posses in previous seasons,at least to the same degree. So enjoy it,& I don't care if Russel Wilson has to come out of the stands to throw a last second touchdown to beat McDavid,& Co 14-13…or Jokic has to drop a triple double…just win baby!

  28. Hey guys oiler fan here from CYYC , stumbled across your site, it sounds very much like you guys call balls and strikes, well done. This series could go 7 and I'm not betting on who wins, it could be that close.

  29. If the puck was sitting five feet offside, and then Val touched up, then Cale could enter the zone and carry the puck. Super straight forward if you change the scale. But also just super straight forward
