Hope we don’t lose Bellows.
Awesome game tonight. LGI!!
Bellows has been a bust.
Great goaltending is an understatement. Sorokin is elite. Only chance NYI has of going anywhere this season
I saw a lot to like, but I temper my enthusiasm one 3 points. Shesterkin wasn't in net. The Rangers had to be tired after that Colorado track meet the day before, and they slowed late in the 2nd. Sorokin had to stand on his head with all the prime chances the Isles gave up early.
I did notice the Isles played a little more of the simple game, and the isle forwards looked connected for the first time this year. I was happy to see Palms and Parise with Pageau, and it working. Wahlstrom played real solid defense, and I think that was probably Lanes message to him. We'll need to see if he can start connecting with Barzal, but I think Lane plans to give it time as long as they aren't a defensive liability.
The wall and puck support was great. Lots of smooth touch passes for breakouts. The forward lines really started functioning as a unit.
Bellows. I'm guessing they aren't seeing him put in the work they want to see. This may be a wake-up call or a final goodbye. I don't care either way. How long will Soshnikov last? Aho had a good game, and he needed it. I think he bought himself some time.
