  1. I don't think Cubs need to spend on any of the big bats. Re-sign Wilson, and go after pitching.

Go at Soto when he's a free agent.

  2. How did Judge help the Yanks win a world series? NO THANKS huge injury risk for that kind of money and years. I do like turner but 700 ab's and only 27 steals is way down already compared to his best and younger years. Resign Willy and add a bigtime starter and maybe bring Rizz back for a 3 year deal with a solid aav because he deserves it. I like Correa because of his age and also could play 3rd but also injured a ton over his young career and can't imagine it will get better with age. Nico reminds of a young Dustin Pedroia and maybe 2nd base is his calling, but he is a solid ss also.

  3. Hell no on Judge where is he going to play; we already overpaid for Seau 85M; we let Swerber and Rizzo go and they hit about 60 plus HR. Again we don’t need Turner either we have a more than serviceable SS too much for 2 little and we NEED starting pitching

  4. 😏 I think all these guys get paid 300M range except Swanson. They have waited all their lives for this if they find the right fit Cha-Ching. 💵💵💵Swanson 6 years 140M I'm in 🤠👍

  5. Judge – NO – too much $ at area not needed. Contract goes to age 39.
Turner – YES – Best fit and not insane contract.
Correa – YES – My #1 SS and I think the least likely to end up being a bad contract, Youngest SS (Would obviously only sign one of Turner or Correa).
Boegarts – NO – Age and 2022 secondary numbers aren't great.
Swanson – NO – Bat just hasn't been consistent for extended period of time. If you're chasing a SS don't go half way.
Degrom – NO – Team isn't close enough. Injury History
Rodon – YES – Rodon is a TOR arm entering a window you're going to try and compete.
Diaz – NO – Closer is the last piece you add to a good roster, not the first
Nimmo – NO – 100M for a CF is way to much with the current Cubs system, Sign a 1 year stop gap and wait.
Verlander – Same as Degrom, the team isn't close enough. Age

I would also look at Bellinger, Senga, Eovaldi, Abreu… depending on the contracts and what other moves are made obviously.

  6. Instead of paying $30+ mil for 8~10 yrs for FA SS, I'd rather trade couple of mid tier prospects for Javy Baez for 5 yrs, assuming Tigers eat some salary.

  7. You have no 3rd baseman and no 1st baseman, but yes lets spend 300m on a ss. Nico gets no respect.

  8. If you're "running the Cubs" you don't sign top free agents, you're the ones trading them away, along with all your high draft picks. That's certainly what our front office do. Loyalty is a foreign concept to them. The cubs signing a player like Judge?…….don't make me laugh. Other teams, like the Yankees, Astros and Dodgers build dynasties, we do everything on the cheap and offload at the first opportunity. The Phillies get Harper and they're in the WS, not a chance in hell the Cubs will do that. Runs and pitching win games, our most expensive player was an outfielder who couldn't hit worth a sh*t.
Free agency?…….we'll get the left overs!.
