Not great, not terrible.
He’ll be a noticeable improvement over some of the defensemen currently on the roster.
Jalen Chatfield jumped him on the depth chart 💀 the guy everyone here was saying was a nothing prospect

For a 5th I think it’s a good gamble. At the same time though my expectations are pretty low. Ever since he got COVID he just hasn’t looked the same to me.
He’s better than Poolman, Schenn, Stillman, and probably Burroughs (although I have liked Burroughs play this year.) I think it’s a solid addition!
I’m cool with him now that we didn’t have to trade Hoglander or premium assets
If you don’t focus on the past (he was passed in the depth chart by a player we let walk in Chatfield, frustrating!), it’s not a bad deal and he’s worth a shot to see how he fits on the right side.
I heard he had some confidence issue thru covid, so i like the bet, especially since its only one year
previously played just fine in a top-4 role in EDM. Pretty instantly is our 3rd best RHD tbh

The problem is he’s shit defensively, Myers schenn boroughs poolman are all better defensively. Bear has some offensive upside but it’ll never show cuz hughes oel Rathbone are all ahead of him to run the powerplay units.
Bear is bad for 2.2M, a bottom pairing defenceman cost much less. This team keeps getting crap players and hoping they turn out
This is a big nothing. Bear is another underwhelming defenseman. The defense will be the same.
At that price I’m curious to see if he can get back to what he was in Edmonton. It’s also hilarious that Canes fans thought they were getting Hogs

Not bad at all. Studnicka always becomes a 20 goal scorer for me in chel franchise mode so fingers crossed 😂
I guess this means that Poolman and Dermott aren’t playing anytime soon
Honestly don’t really care if he’s good or not, we desperately need warm bodies on defence so at this point beggars can’t be choosers. Hope he plays great.
