Those Jersey jerseys are starting to look good right now.
I pray that the collapse we see every year by December doesn’t happen. Idk this team just has a different vibe to them than previous ones.
Omg, we went head to head with the defending Cup champs (who are essentially us in 6 years, hopefully), and played them to a stalemate with our stud breaking through for the GWG. I love the Devils and I love to hockey!
Worth noting that although Vanecek played extremely well and deserved the shutout, Avs only managed an xG of 1.47 (we were 2.65 for contrast).
Our defence really has been top draw so far, Marino has been an excellent addition, he’s brought far more to the team than I expected. Have to give it to Fitz here, he’s pulled out some crackers.

This is an emotional one for me.
I’m at the game tonight and i learned that my grandfather who recently fell ill may not make it through the weekend. Of course this made attending tonight’s game very distracting and difficult, but seeing the boys pull off a win against the Cup Champs meant everything to me. I’m not religious, but sometimes the universe can show its hand, and tonight it did. Lots of emotions right now.

The thing about tonights win was that the team had a sense of urgency and reaction that playoff hockey requires. Been a while since we’ve seen that.
We beat the Stanley cup champs 1-0. That’s something. Besides going 6-6 on the Pk, no thanks to Tatar, we looked amazing in every aspect. Makes me super confident going into Sunday.

They unlocked that extra gear to play with the champs tonight. Locked down defense and did everything they could to break up plays and block shots. I bet the guys are feeling pretty fucking rewarded for their efforts right now. That was huge.

I unfortunately had to watch the Avs feed tonight, and they said « this is without doubt the best the Devils have played this season » and while it was a well-played game, I wouldn’t even put in in our better half of overall performances, that being said we absolutely shut their offense down.
6/6 on the PK and only a couple of high danger chances through 60 mins.
