  1. The Oilers have a major design flaw with their jerseys – they're about the same color as the HOCKEY PUCK!

You would think Mike Smith was pretty dumb for letting that past him, but the Edmonton players camouflaged the puck with their jerseys in the background. There's almost no chance that Mike Smith could've seen that in time. Steve, say the line – "That's a Dang-It!"

  2. Honestly I'm not gonna get on Smith about this because that puck had such a deceptively low cruising speed that it probably didn't even trigger any visual queues to react to. Even the camera man lost track of the puck. If that were a 100mph blue line clapper there would have been something to visually react to. But an insanely low percentage, cross-ice, low cruising speed, wrist shot behind a quadruple screen. Yeah, that's really weird to see and probably really hard to stop. By the time you even notice it you're probably already overcompensating, which looks even more ridiculous because of how slow the puck is moving. It's like when you're behind someone in a car who keeps slowing down without using their brake lights and you find yourself on their tailgate slamming on your brakes before you even realize they slowed down.

  3. Weirdest I Mean WEIRDEST short handed goal I have ever witnessed

  4. I've totally been there ad a goalie, not that far but Yup, basically stood there as it past me. 😆 😂 😆

  5. From his own blue line? Was closer to his own face off circle than the blue line!

  6. When did the NHL get rid of the goal lights on the glass behind the nets, and why? Used to be cool to see those things light up…. Was it after Pete Peeters stuffed one up a sportswriters hiney?

  7. First trying to act like a player, then let that shot in. I guess he was betting on this game…..

  8. That has happened to me before to when I used to play ice hockey as a goalie. I had a guy do the same thing taking a shot from his own Zone and I did not see the puck coming imbound because one of my own players accidentally screened me from seeing it come. Very embarrassing lol

  9. If you watch closely the goalie is screened at his blue line by his own player. I don't think he could pick up the puck from the dark sweaters of his team. Also the puck drops like a knuckle ball.He should have been paying closer attention aswell.A set of circumstances together that caused the goal. It's hockey anything can happen. Its part of the beauty of the sport.

  10. not only are these jerseys ugly, but the lack of white trim prevented the goalie from seeing the puck

  11. I'm going to be honest my first time in the net a guy took a shot from center ice and it was like one of bugs Bunny's pitches I moved about 5,000 times before that puck came in the crease and it went right through the five hole throughout the years my friends we jokingly tell the other team to shoot soft on me because that's the only way you're going to score
But I'm three for three stopping Marcel Dionne on a breakaway on the penalty shot and on a wrap around at the buzzer each time I stopped him he slashed the s*** out of me yelling f**** goalie

  12. He must have looked away or blinked or something just for the moment the puck was screened by several people. By the time he saw it, it was too late.
Way to catch a team off guard…also way to put it on net!

  13. Is that Yamamoto ducking rather than taking one to the face for the team? They gonna have to do the goalberg method on him before the next series

  14. I mean tbf, that puck must have been impossible to see from his perspective and the shot was out of the blue

  15. Mike Smith is not good to say the least, neither are his teammates so there ya have it….

  16. The loft on that shot was so damn perfect😂 if it was a foot lower, Smith might have been able to spot it a little sooner. Blended in perfectly with all the dark Oiler jerseys in the crowd.

  17. The puck is very easy to lose when it goes over the boards like that. Black on black is impossible. I'd rather take a breakaway over this type of shot any day of the week

  18. Dark jersey, plus he wasn't really looking, got caught by surprise.
