The Trotz quote seems overblown to me. I think as a hockey fan he likes the historical intrigue of coaching an original six team. But this Leafs squad? Looks nothing like the teams he had before. No way he takes this on without the freedom to veto Kyle Dubas, but how do you move these contracts and build the team he would want? If anything, he would bide his time and hope for a chance to coach the Red Wings.
As a Leafs fan I am disgusted. This is now the 100th time we have blown a lead and have lost to one of the worst teams in the LEAGUE. This don't blink idea of Dubas needs to go. In my opinion firing the coach won't do anything. Keefe has the best record as a coach with the leafs. Better than babcock and Carlyle. We need a better outlook of the future. Fire Dubas. That's the best thing for the fans, organization and franchise.

You could program a computer or tablet and the reports could press numbers 1 through 5 for the answers the players will give. They have been the same since the losing streak started. The players would be better off staying in the showers or packing up their stuff and heading off to the next city to lay an egg. It is going to be a long season. Matthews is already looking to go home and play in his home town. Wonder where I heard that before? They lack the drive, determination and desire to be a dominate team. There is always next year!

The thing with the whole “It’s only 10 games in, it’s early in the season thing” Is like the guys said 1: It the same thing you’ve seen for years now but also 2: We all know points are easier to get at the beginning of the year than they are at the end. If they turn it around and miss the Playoffs by a few points is going to be games like this and against the Yotes and against the Habs early in the season, games they should have won and didn’t that everybody will point to as the reason why. So yes it’s still early in the season but it still matters.

I got news for you. They won't beat the Bruins or the Flyers. Both teams are playing better and harder than the Leafs. They'll grind Toronto into the ground.
They have a lot of injuries on the back end right now, but even when those guys are ready to go the cap will limit who can play. Holl and Sandin are not defenseman that are play off hockey worthy and to be honest even Reilly has been horrible in his own end. Other than Gio there is no physicality on the back end with Muzzin out. The 3rd and 4th lines are not doing much at all. They don't really have a top six they have a top 4 and that is the result of the cap issues. Dubas has to go and it maybe time to pull the trigger on a Marner trade. Marner should have been benched for the rest of the game. Problem is the entire team is committing the same kind of errors. Its not a coaching issue its a want to issue for many of these guys.

I'm not pretending to know what goes on in their locker room. A coaching change may be needed. Is Tavares in being the captain leading in a good way? I can say that as leadership goes, I can't see anyone else being a captain or leading them. They need a Wendel Clark or Gary Roberts type guy leading the team. This team needs heart. They have a lot of talented players but as they say hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard. Let the skill guys do what they do but have a heart guy to hold players accountable and lead by example.
Captain Pajamas has really worked out for you guys. Dooby should be parking cars at Scotiabank Arena and Biebs should be your GM. LGI
They have had multiple coaches, players & goaltenders, the common thread is Dubas & Shanahan. They broke this team when they spent 40 million on 4 FORWARDS. You build a team from the goalie out. They need someone new in mgmt. Dubas & Shanahan can't fix this.
One thing that scares me is that soon Dubas will be fired and one day he’ll be announced as the GM at the team I support.
