Miller is a winger again because he's not really cut out to play centre on a consistent basis. His stint there this year was a disaster. So, if you trade Horvat, who's your 2C? It would be nice to have a top four defenceman, but this would simply move the gaping hole from one position to another. I'm surprised that so many experts never address such a basic fact. In regard to the contract in the summer, the contending teams are just as capped-out as the Canucks, but I suppose that a club like the Kraken could consider building around him and would have the means to do so. If they're moving him as a rental, then they're out of a playoff spot and have decided to take a step back next year. You need more than one good centre to be a decent team in this league.
Horvat quietly logs tough minutes against oppositions top players, kills penalties and can produce points consistently. Either you resign him long term or trade him while he still has value, do not let him walk for nothing. I believe he is underappreciated.
If EP40, QH, JT Miller, Horvat all untouchable, then you have to consider to give up BB6 &Myers for upgrades you team

If an organization is moving a top D-man, Vancouver will have to add to the package or have a long term deal with horvat in place before trade is complete. Vancouver will not want to bring in a Top D-man who is a UFA — Van would want term left on deal. Plus if you ask me, Other Organization may want another forward for a TOP D_MAN

The first Canuck who should be traded —- Brock Boeser, not Bo Horvat. Boeser does practically nothing for the salary he gets paid in comparison to Horvat, who is a consistently hard-working, tough and intense team player on and off the ice. That's why he's been the Captain for so long. Horvat makes a difference, Boeser doesn't. Horvat pulls the load, Boeser gets carried by the others. Boeser is over-rated and only an average player, not the outstanding player he's expected to be.
