« McDavid, Hyman, Skinner brillent alors que les Oilers grincent devant les Flames » du culte du hockey
Faisons cela! Le balado Cult of Hockey. Par les fidèles et pour les fidèles, ce soir avec Bruce McCurdy et David Staples. Ils profitent de la victoire 3-2 d’Edmonton contre les Flames de Calgary.
A win's a win, but I still worry about the team defence. The Oilers once again blatantly failed to box out a threatening attacker on the 2-1 go-ahead goal. Kane and Pulj are standing flat-footed around the dots while a shooter drifts into position for an unhindered point-blank shot on net. Both wingers were far from a chance of even making a weak stick check on Ritchie. Maybe it was more Pulj’s fault since Kane was covering the strong side pass back up high. But I put it even more on coaching since it seems systematic. Won’t make the playoffs with such porous defense.
I’d like to see them play more like the Blues in their own slot. It might slow down the transition to offense, but not as much as having a puck in the back of your net does.
We really might have something with Skinner. Obviously too early to tell his ceiling, but is it outlandish to think maybe the Oilers have developed a guy who’s in a tier with guys like Hellebuyck or Andersen?
Skinner has been incredible. Outdueling Markannen is a great accomplishement. We may have finally drafted a good starting goalie again, which feels like a miracle. There are 7 games coming up in the first 12 days of November, and we're going to need both goalies, so Campbell is going to get his chances to prove himself. It's great to have this competition between the two; it's going to push them both to be at their best.
Vincent Desharnais should be slated to come back fairly soon. They said he'd miss a month, and it's been about that. He'll need some rehab and games in the AHL of course, but maybe we'll see him up with the big club by December if everything goes really well. He could be the defensive 3rd pairing guy we need, but who knows.
Not a pretty game, especially for Tyson Chicken, but, yet again, one to grow on. (they're all ones to grow on…) 9 through, October done, 73 lessons to playoffs. G🥅 🥅i🏒ers G🥅!!!
Listening from the middle of the Kashmir valley. Watched the game (when 4G allowed) while driving from Leh to Srinagar through the himalayas. At least they play some hockey in Leh, but I had to explain to my companions that Oilers v. Flames is like India v. Pakistan in cricket: doesn't matter if there's nothing important at stake, you just can't stand to lose to those guys! Love it.
Was an edge of the seat nailbiter from the first shift onwards. I thought that Skinner had won the start in Chicago after he dominated the Blues, so was glad to see him start in Cow Town.

Connor 7 points in 2 games. Enough said.
Nice title

Skinner continues to impress the hell out of me.
Ride Skinner he is hot.

Skinner saved the Oiler's skin…

Man the leafs must be kicking themselves for letting Hyman walk
Bouch needs to lay the body on Lucic and that second goal doesn’t happen, too soft on the play.
High skill players killing penalties = pressure on the pp qb. Barrie the victim tonight. It happens.
Skinner was fantastic again tonight.

The problems with Oilers’ defence still linger. But at least now we have solid enough goaltending to help mitigate some of those issues.
Nice to see Puljujärvi knock Lucic off balance in the first with a check
you might want to change the title of this video.

It's not McDavid…. It's McJesus…. get it right fella's.
Happy Skinner was in for the game. If Campbell was in I'm sure the result would of been much different. Tyson Barrie kinda sucks.
David is an amateur…he’s very childlike on his point of view
McDavid is obviously making a nightly appearance in Markstroms Nightmares…
