Trade him. I would be sad to see him go, but that’s a lot of money that can actually go towards making this team competitive.
I posted this video so people would see that he was frustrated and taking accountability of his turnovers but people seem to be not watching the interview and… really misinterpreting this
Curious observation:
Marner talks a lot about “**me**” and “**I**”… and when he talks about the team, it’s “**this** team” not “**my** team” or “**our** team.”
To me, that says he’s only playing for himself, and does not feel a sense of responsibility or accountability to his teammates.
This was one of the better moments I’ve seen out of this team. Get pissed off. That’s what I want to see in these times. We are all pissed off. We want to see passion and emotion. I want them to display that they care as much as us lifers who know they are better than this.
There’s a quote from Gare Joyce’s book Young Leafs about Mitch’s time with the London Knights that I think says a lot about how he thinks.

That’s not a selfish player, that’s a player who’s spent too many silent car rides back from the local rink and has become terrified of disappointing people. Think of him crying in the penalty box after his puck-over-the-glass penalty against the Habs. That’s not a player who only cares about himself, that’s a player who’s gripped with a fear of letting everyone else down. I’m not telling you to weep for the poor millionaire athlete, but I do think he’s not the stereotype a lot of people have of him.

Send him to Chicago for Kane and toews, get them to eat some salary to make it work and I’d take my chances at a run with them. Can’t win with that punk

Our fan base is so embarrassing. Last year we were crying that our team is without passion, that they don’t care when they fuck up. Now we’re on his ass for expressing his passion when he fucks up. This Marner cares. Our fan base needs to grow tf up and cut the toxic masculinity- crying is GOOD. HE CARES.
Despite what Steve Dangle said about not allowing Mitch back on the bench after he walked down the tunnel, I thought that frustration was great to see. While it’s not the best way to take out his anger, it’s much better than not being angry.
This team needs to play angry more often.
Take your frustration out by throwing a big hit next time you have a chance…at least that way you might help the team win
