Cependant, l’histoire de la façon dont il n’a presque jamais atteint ce moment est moins connue. À l’âge de 25 ans, le rein de Dave lui faisait défaut et il avait besoin d’une greffe. Heureusement, sa mère Mary était compatible et a fait un don à son fils. It's one thing to be pressed into action, as an emergency goalie, but the fact that he is a kidney recipient and went on to achieve this, so cool! Such a great story, congratulations!

Huge hurricanes fan here and always am mesmerized by that game but even more so with what he and his wife did with their new found fame afterwards. Hockey is the greatest sport for reasons like this.

I wish Ron Maclean said this that Saturday night minutes after the Leafs loss to the Hurricanes. "Yeah. The Leafs are in the "hockeycaust" once again and Anne Frank would've been a proud Leafs fan that night."
