  1. but how much of this is mismanagement from the Seattle Kraken ? Would Shane Wright experience be different under MSL ?

  2. I absolutely feel for him, sub 7 minutes per game when he does play, scratched every game his grandparents were in town for.
Can't be great for his confidence.

  3. Boo hoo slurp. Get the big mop for poor Shane Wright. The fact that he's nor playing says to me that Canadiens and the others were right not to take him. I'm sure he can console himself with his PROFESSIONAL salary.

  4. what they did last weekend with his grandparents in to watch 3 games and they bench him shows total lack of professionalism. He will be offer sheeted when he can and gone from there. I know he was accused of taking shifts off and his attitude is bad but his I am greater than thou dropped him to 4th.

  5. As a Habs fan I was one of the fan who was praising for the tricolore to pick Wright, so yeah i do feel for him. But, I'm so happy we got Slaf instead! A young charismatic energetic and talented player, that's it I'm falling in love with Slaf.

  6. Kraken should trade him to Cgy. He will do well with huberdeau line

  7. The reason why Kingston would trade Shane Wright if he ends up being sent back to the OHL is that the Frontenacs aren't going to be as competitive as they were when he was last with them (and even then, the Frontenacs weren't even that great of a team, minus a few prospects here and there). It's natural in the OHL for returned highly-touted prospects to be traded to Memorial Cup-contending teams, so they can restore draft picks and build for the next 3-4 years of the team. My guess is that if Shane Wright ends up being traded, it will be to a competitive team like Ottawa or Windsor. Being on competitive teams like those could help him get his mojo back, and get the wheels spinning again. I just wanted to clear this up because there's probably some people thinking that because Kingston might want to trade him, that it's his fault and that the situation is getting worse. This is something that happens in the CHL all the time. Even Tavares of all people was traded.

  8. The astonishment and incredulity upon having discovered Wright never played during the pandemic shows that its obvious Wright should have known better. He had to know that he needed to play overseas. He had to, and he didnt anyways.
And really, who in their right mind insists on prophesizing that they will go #1 in the NHL draft anyways?

  9. Wright is from Burlington, Ontario. Everyone, I have met from Burlington, Ontario, have mega attitude.

  10. Im not impressed with the Kraken Mgmt and especially there Coach. I never understood why they wanted Haxtall? I think Shane will be fine just send him back to Junior and bring him back next year. Sad his Family went thru this heartless Drama.

  11. Seattle were NOT the ones grilling him for not playing, so there's nothing ironical about him not playing in Seattle, even though I, like everyone else, don't get why they're benching him right now

  12. I feel bad for Wright about as much I feel bad for the Leafs. Guys got an attitude problem for sure, and it all started with the Death stare at the draft. Sure, he fell a couple spots, but thats just the game – unpredictable. You just got drafted into the Ultimate of Leagues. show some f****ing gratitude.

  13. I figured it was because it’s so expensive to keep that huge noggin of his in custom helmets.

  14. He’s in a weird middle ground. He’s too good for junior, but not ready for the NHL. The NHL-CHL agreement is hurting him, because the obvious place he should be is the AHL

  15. nothing is given in this league. Wright should of had a fire up his ass to play amazing to show he should of went 1st,but got benched. there's a hockey reason why. no team would do that for shits and giggles. maybe he thinks he's better than what he is. that's on him. I don't feel bad for the kid at all. hes had a shot that many talented players never get.

  16. It’s every hockey player’s dream to be in the NHL…not just Shane Wright. Then to blame Habs fans when everyone has been trolling Wright for having a shitty attitude…
There has to be a reason he isn’t being played…something that people on the internet who are acting like they know everything, clearly don’t know. It always makes me laugh when people act like they know more about how to run a team than the actual professionals who do it 😂

  17. Being a habs fan I dont really care how he does. All i care about is Slaf and that he's developed properly! Personally, I want to see Slaf in the AHL and in the world juniors. Season him up, no harm! Only keep him up if he is excelling with the CH

  18. Well 10 games is coming up – I guess that means Seattle will have to decide something ?

  19. That stare was intentional no matter what Shane said afterwards. From that moment I knew this kid was going to screw himself with his arrogance and attitude. Think about it, the team that drafted him has already had enough of him. And make no mistake, they tried to adjust his attitude, obviously to no avail. Good call Montreal (that would be a good t-shirt)

  20. Anyone remember how in 1980 Montreal drafted Doug Wickenheiser and didn't play him while Chicago drafted Denis Savard who had a dynamite rookie season? But that was a time when the Montreal Canadiens were an organization steeped in tradition where players learned in the minors, watched from the press box then rode the bench and were slowly integrated into the lineup. So what's the deal here with the Kraken? Seatle is an expansion team that could use immediate help; confidence is important to a player's success.

  21. As a fan of the injury plagued Capitals…

…can we have him? Please? Seattle clearly doesn’t want him, and we need warm bodies. He will get ice time.

  22. Can Shane go back to Kingston willingly or is he contract bound to stay on the bench in Seattle? Cause honestly I would defect back and say dont like it trade me cause even GM's and owners are probably thinking Seattle is treating this kid dirty and would take a chance on him in a trade, cause he shouldnt half to put up with this crap

  23. Why is he entitled to any ice time? There’s a reason 3 other teams passed on him. Everyone so quick to criticize the Kraken. I think it’s good for players to EARN what they get. What is he doing with his 6 minutes a game? How is he in practice? In the locker room? With his teammates? With the coaching staff? He’s a kid who probably need to be humbled abit and learn what it takes to be a good pro.

  24. Do you think Shane Wright will be better center than no. 1 center Beniers in the future? Not!

  25. I'm a habs fan and I'm disgusted by the situation. Wright deserved a better organisation. At this point trade him for a 1st pick.

  26. I feel for Wright to be honest. One reason I don’t mind it as much is the fact that some fans from other teams called Slaf a bust before he even played and after the first two games saying that Wright should have been first. Seeing how that aged lol I can’t seem to think they were Wright about it.

  27. That stare down at the draft prevents me from showing any sympathy for the guy. Karma is biting him in the ass. Cockiness gets you nowhere.

  28. The Kraken have him on the roster right now to see what he's got, so they're either COMPLETELY mishandling their evaluation of him, or there's an attitude or mindset issue from Shane that's forcing management's hand to make an example. Either way it's a sh!tshow, and completely poisoning the waters for Seattle to get anything out of their 4th overall pick.
