Sorry for irrelevant comment . Tortorella is been interviewed by flyers . Fitz should have considered him or Trotz . I don’t see us going anywhere with Ruff . We’ve been getting better on paper only .

  2. Do it. We need immediate impact players. Of course I’m fine if we don’t move the pick and get a future star player. We are so close to moving to the next level and being a competitive team every game. We need a new Goalie as well. We need help all
Over. Slavkovsky looks like a nice fit. Lindy Ruff needs to win now so maybe Futz will pull the trigger and take a chance on a trade. I’m good either way though!

  3. Logan Cooley has Patrick Kane type talent , 3rd line Center in Jersey in the future would be to tough to pass on, and hard for any team to match.

  4. IF…. they do trade the 2nd pick, it HAS to be an all star player. 2nd overall is too high to just give up on some regular Joe Shmoe.

  5. Possibly could be the montreal canadians getting this pick which is crazy because they do have number 1 already but the trade rumour makes sense. New jersey is open to trading this pick because they are looking for a defencemen not a forward, Montreal is very interested in slavkovsky but will not pass up on shane wright. So theres two big options that could go down. Montreal has calgarys first this year and they have floridas first next year, the trade could involve both those first round picks alexander romanov and a young player like poeling for the second overall pick. Montreal has a lot of young defencemen coming up right now and are not at a shortage for young talent its not a huge deal for them to give up a defencemen for this pick. It is also possible that is is kayden guhle who is involved in the trade. I dont know if montreal is completly open to the idea of trading guhle but for slavkovsky at two maybe they could make something work. It would be very interesting to see the candians in 5 years with suzuki caufield wright and slavkovsky. The rumours for the trade for slavkovsky makes sense as devils need defence and montreal really does not hurt that bad from a trade like this could be interested leading into the deadline

  6. If you want a proven power forward you could look at Anderson and the Habs 33rd pick for your 2nd overall. He has a 6 year contract at 5.5 million. He would be a monster in Jersey and can keep up with your high end forwards and he's cap friendly.

  7. Pasternak, Sergachev, Debrincat…. Good players cost a lot of money…. if you want to be a good team you have to spend money lol

  8. I don't see why the Flames would even consider trading Tkachuk makes no sense for them. He would be the #1 guy I'd want as a devils fan if they were to trade the 2nd pick Debrincat next. Puljuarvi, Kakko, Kotkimiemi all looked great on the world stage and in their leagues like Slaf. Just saying why not get a sure thing? I say trade the pick this team does not need to get any younger. Liiga players are so boom or bust. Also "next Jagr" knock it off folks I think he can be a stud but Jagr? Huge reach, remember the world's are a real small sample size.

  9. Buffalo offers you their 9th,16 and 28th pick for number 2. At 9th you still get a hell of a player. We want Cooley.

  10. They need to fire ruff and goaltending coach. Get rid of Zacha. Re-sign Bratt and leave ty Smith in a ditch somewhere. Get a competent goalie who can stay healthy. Not hard. Johnny G is sadly going to the flyers. Trotz, Tocchet, Kevin Dineen, Paul Maurice or Kirk muller for head coach

  11. Zacha was supposed to be that power forward but he doesn’t play to his size. They definitely need to get bigger and tkachuk fills what they needs but I can’t see Calgary trading him. Especially since gaudreau is walking.

  12. I want yalls opinion…

Would the Devils be open to trade their 2nd pick overall

    For a package of :
-Josh Anderson (a power forward, which is rare in the league)
-Jake Allen (who would bring much needed support to Blackwood)
    -Calgary’s 1st rnd pick (likely around 26-28)

    And maybe something else?

  13. Montreal has many options available Players and draft picks and Im sure the brass are talking.

  14. Do not trade the pick unless slaf is taken 1st overall.
Then recalibrate if that were to happen.
I do believe the Canadian's r going to take slaf 1st overall.

  15. I always felt DeBrincat would be a great fit for the Devils. They always have a high number of American born players. Is that enough to justify the second overall pick? Who knows. By the way, I am a Canadian Devils fan.

  16. With what the Devils have now, although they are up and coming, I don't seem them as contenders anytime soon. Playoff team, yes. Contenders, no. I've been a Devils fan since 1988. I've seen the great years, the dynasty years. They have to make a commitment to either embrace the defensive style of the past of an offensive approach or a combination of both. What I see now is just a team that is middle of the pack without a clear identity.

  17. I heard comparisons of Slavkovsky to Jagr.. IN that case, 100% we draft him. I’ll take another Jagr and sort out a goalie in free agency or trade. Draft this kid..

  18. The second pick of this years does not worth either of those guys. Asking a 40 goal scorer for this year second draft is insane. No scout thinks that even the first pick of this year will touch this mark. Its not impossible that Cooley end up doing this, but no one is ever going tot rade a confirmed 40goal 100pts scrorer for someone expected to hit the 25-30g mark and maybe more if all stars aligne. At this rate MTL could trade their 1t pick for Connor McDavid.
