I remember that night vividly. With less than 25 seconds left in the third I was anxious with the idea of going back to SJ for a potential game 6. Then the tying goal happened and I was so thrilled! And in 2 OT periods, I was on the edge of my seat, Luongo made some big saves in OT and I remember Higgins couldn’t bury a breakaway opportunity and when the stanchion goal went in, like almost everyone else, I don’t know how but I didn’t care because WE WERE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP FINALS!!!!
Was watching with my brother on his big TV. His baby was like 2 years old and fell asleep on the rug in front of the TV at some point. When we jumped up screaming after the goal, the poor kid woke up in terror screaming his head off.
What hope we had then…
