Really really hope Lindgren’s injury is not long term. The team D looked flat out ugly without him there and I don’t even think he’s been playing close to his best until the last few games.

Oddly of all the d-pairs tried after Lindgren went down, Fox on his few shifts at LD looked better than anyone else partnering him. Jones had some decent moments offensively, but looked absolutely hopeless defensively against any sort of top-tier talent.

Jones and Hajek playing in the same d-corps is a scary thought. Honestly think Drury needs to deal for proper cover but the cap’s a continuing problem.

I don’t understand how Trouba just comes in and gets the C. Fuck what he does off the ice. He’s not a leader where it matters.

Should have kept the C vacant or gave it to Kreider.

  3. [deleted]

When you have 5 defenseman playing, and one of them is Jacob Trouba, this result isn’t surprising.

  4. sagmoon21

    Here’s some random thoughts.

    1. We need Chytil back asap
    2. Trocheck is due, one of the only people who consistently shows up
    3. Stop passing the fucking puck, 4 shots in a period is not acceptable
    4. Schneider is great
    5. It’s the beginning of November and we can’t lose hope yet. Just gotta do better on Sunday and keep it moving

  5. tlop200

Also nice that Vesey scored tonight but hes gotta stop with the dekes and toe drags, it leads to a giveaway every time

  6. AIC_333

Ray Ferraro looks like Barclay Goodrow on crack

  7. Ochocincoondeck

At this point, I would take Vlasic over Trouba.

  8. ccasazza

The kids are *playing* well. But we said we’d only be good team this year if they *produced*

So far 5 points for Laf and 3 for Kakko – on pace for 34 and 21 points

The expectation (or hope) was 60 for Laf and 40 for Kakko

They’re putting themselves in good positions to score but they’re not going in.

Hoping things can pick up in next few games

  9. UsedToBeBradfordTwo

The defense *has* to be better. DQ was a terrible coach, but at least he knew defense was not his strength and he hired Martin. Then Fox won a Norris. GG just has his lackey Mike Kelly follow him wherever he goes and doesn’t seem willing to adjust much more than jumbling the pairs up. Bring in some outside help if we need it man.

  10. Super_Pianist_6148

We really need Kakko and Laf to take the next step. Without 50 goals from Kreider, the team is looking roughy offensively. Fox, Zib, and Panarin can’t score every goal. It’s not sustainable.

  11. Gbeez22

When Chytil and Krav are back, I know it’s prob Gaut that gets sent down bc he doesn’t have to clear waivers, but imo it should be Carpenter. He really hasn’t had any memorable moments. Sadly I can’t see them doing it bc of possibly losing center depth.

    20-93-24
    10-16-13
    26-72-74
    12-21-91/75

Maybe Vesey and Goat swap, idk. But I could see Gaut’s speed being valuable on that 4th line.

  12. AIC_333

Ferraro is 100% correct. Enough with the “Kakko and Laf are playing so well” shit. They need to SCORE or we’re once again going to have to buy like two or three pieces to even be competitive in the playoffs.

  13. whoizhenri

    Is Rosen not commentating anymore?

  14. mbsmilford

This sub is so typical after a loss. Whoever had a bad game fuck em. Demote em. Trade em. Players have bad games. Trouba going nowhere. NOWHERE. We really need out number 1 overall and 2 overall to start playing like a 1 and 2 overall. Bottom 6 scoring would also take some pressure off top six. I’m sure between Drury and Gallant they will figure it out. Because I’m a fan and that’s what I’m hoping for.

  15. FoghornLeghorn99

    The good:

    – Vesey is still playing well
    – top 6 is playing well
    – Fox is on
    -Miller played very well

    The Medium:

    – Shesty is playing fine, but not to his standard
    – the third line

    The bad:

    – the 4th line
    – Jones
    – The finishing and passing up shots

    The sickening:

    – Trouba, what the fuck buddy

    Overall:

The Bruins are better – right now. There’s no mincing wors there. They are hot, we are not.

They will probably fall back down to Earth a bit, their pace 8s not sustainable.

They Rangers will probably improve, but this moment in time, the Bruins are just a better team.

  16. Ochocincoondeck

I haven’t like Jacob Trouba since game 3 of the ECF. Dumbass sees we’re up 2-0 in the game with Tampa’s top player in the box on a double minor and proceeds to let Tampa have momentum and win 4 straight. Fuck that guy.

  17. TerriblePigs

We needed Lindgren tonight. Hope he ain’t out for long.

  18. Ochocincoondeck

Reaves needs to get the MacDermid/Avalanche treatment and just be out there to fuck people up. Not get important minutes or be there for scoring chances. Give those minutes to someone else of good offensive/defensive use.

  19. jerejeje

Hot take: Lafrenière and Kakko are playing great right now and their lack of point totals are due to bad on ice shooting luck rather than any fault of their own.

  20. UsedToBeBradfordTwo

Enough of the nonsense with “when Kakko figures it out” or “when the shooting %s even out he will be insane”. He’s an insane possession beast who in his fourth season hasn’t mastered the art of getting puck into net. Laf, I can cut a bit more slack because it seems like at least once a game he gets stonewalled on a grade a chance. The next decade of this organization is literally on the shoulders of these two kids living up to even 75% of there potential. Enough with the theoretical production, put it in the net.

  21. IHSCOUTII1973

« It’s ok, Boston is a good team » So are we. I don’t want to hear it.

I don’t know if it’s the lack of Chytil or Lindgren but that was our shittiest performance since Columbus. Started out the first period with an uninspiring offense that failed to register a single shot on net during a power play, we came back in the second with a red-hot offense, but in the third our defense absolutely collapsed and made the period look like a 20 minute Boston PP. Shesty was hung out to dry, and it looks like we won’t be able to magically get away with that anymore.

Our top 6 is absolutely gassed and our bottom 6 has proved incapable of picking up the slack. Hopefully Chytil and Lindy come back soon because otherwise I’m not sure we can keep performing like this. As proven by the Devils, Flyers and others, the Metro division is way more competitive this year. It’s still early in the season but two points now is the same as two points in March. Let’s address these issues now and come back way stronger on Sunday.

  22. BarmyDevonian

Watching the Boston depth guys like Foligno dominate makes it clear to me that our 4th line is not good enough.

No, a 4th line does not need to score, but it should give the team some life and buzz. They’re not doing that.

Carpenter and Reaves cannot play at the same time imo…that line needs more speed. Still think Rydahl or Brodz deserved that 4C spot after preseason.

With Chytil due back, shame Gauthier decided to disappear again tonight. Would have liked to see both in the lineup in the bottom 6 together.

  23. UsedToBeBradfordTwo

Honestly at this point if Kakko could grow into Valeri Nichushkin 2.0 I would be totally thrilled

  24. Smooth_Sir5967

Boston Is a team with depth on all there lines.the rangers are not. It’s a 60 minute game.

  25. FoghornLeghorn99

Kakko is still 21, better every year and has taken a clear step forward this year. He’s not done getting better.

Neither is Laf, but Laf does not look nearly as good right now.
