The only regret that I have about that incident other than the incident itself was I wish Chris Draper was more of a fighter so he could fight his own battles instead of relying on Darren McCarty to fight his battles for him.
Yzerman is doing it the right way I believe by building through the draft and piling up those draft picks similar to how he built up the Lightning.

I love what Drapes had to say about Buchelnikov. One of the biggest risks with drafting Russian players is the risk that they might not ever want to come to North America, yet here’s this kid already wanting to learn English and work with the Wings’ video coaches just days after being drafted. This kid’s potential is way off the charts. I’m so excited to see how he develops.
