If anyone would suffer from big contract-itis it would definitely be Kyrou

I am stoked JR wrote this. He’s spot on. But Here come the Kyrou defenders. Aka, the fans that don’t know shit.

I floated this idea earlier and was downvoted. It is real.

Well that’s not ideal

I don’t think scapegoating one guy (who has been shit) for this team being shit top to bottom is what we should be doing here

I’m gonna start taking a shot every time Kyrou turns the puck over at the blue line.

Wasn’t thrilled with the deal. I see Kyrou as a complimentary scoring winger who should be making closer to $6.5M. PPG is nice but that was achieved without teams really focusing on clamping down on him. It’s also nicer when a player can contribute something, anything positive defensively as well. Kyrou is atrocious on the back end and frankly we need more on the PP too. He’s been a turnover machine.
It’s definitely not looking good, and I can see why there might be some resentment. All that said, we’ve been trash as a whole team and stories like this don’t come out when the team is playing up to the level that they’re capable off. Plenty of time for both Kyrou and the Blues to turn things around. Let’s hope they do it. This feels more like filler from a writer that can only write so much about how bad the team has been the past couple weeks rather than a real reason we suck right now.

We used to have the Blues farm team where I live. I had a chance to see Kyrou for two years in AHL play, and he played this EXACT way he now plays for the Blues. He is careless with the puck and thinks he can just blow by players that are fucking NHL players. He doesn’t track back once he loses the puck either. I think he still thinks he’s in juniors where he was the proverbial “man amongst boys”, truth is these guys are good they are NHL professionals your not just gonna blow by them that easy if at all. They paid him to early, he has talent but I don’t think he’s listing to coaches/ veterans, but as I said in AHL play he was the same way. Hopefully he eventually listens.

Kyrou has been bad. Oreilly has been bad. Parayko and Leddy look lost. The whole team looks slow compared to other teams. Kyrou is not the biggest issue.

The deal was wayyy too premature but scapegoating Kyrou is pretty stupid after last night. It really wasn’t on any individual player and Jordan actually had an ok game. The issue is that when something goes wrong we implode and seven more things also go wrong and then we give up 4 goals in 10 minutes

Armstrong pulled a Mozeliak. I hope it works out in the end. He’s young and definitely has time to improve.

Its DA’s legacy. Insane at making trades and absolutely shit at handing out contracts.

Kyrou is good when he’s hot and scoring goals, but any other time he’s an utter liability. It’s insulting to give him Thomas money.

some resentment? please, tell me, coming from whom?
if you’re a grown-ass professional and you can’t play worth a shit because you’re too worried about another man’s contract, you aren’t worth the skin you’re printed on.
a vet can and should hold his teammate accountable especially if his play has been ‘lackadaisical’ (and it has), but that shouldn’t have anything to do with his contract.
so if he was earning less, we’d be okay with lackadaisical play?

Armstrong should have shipped him to calgary for tkachuk

While valid. Doesn’t excuse the entire team’s shit play and attitudes

Regardless if this is true or not, sounds like some highschool bullshit that has no place in the locker room

He isn’t playing well but also isn’t to blame for the losses. Defence is pretty much useless right now

We have issues in numerous areas and levels. Until they can get back to the next man up culture, have fun and play as a team we’re fucked. Too bad we let all our next men up go down the road. 18 and 25 need to be on separate lines. They are both playing like pillows.
