  1. To Bruce wondering the nature of Yamo's injury in training camp, I've heard it was a concussion. Apparently he also had a concussion in the playoffs. I think he's afraid to take a hit, so he's losing the puck by putting his awareness on trying to keep track of all the players around him.

  2. Happy Birthday David. Oilers… They've been playing like they all just expect the usual suspects to score 5 plus goals every game, and so defense isn't that important. For all the talent, some real brain cramps with bad pass's, being unaware of an obvious danger etc. They won a number of games last year at this time playing very similarly, due to some great goaltending from Smith and Koskinen. Then Reality hit in December as to what happens when a team plays like this. This should serve to help motivate them to stop playing mins at a time in glide mode. Last thing, Man the Oilers could sure those old 2 fan whipping posts Larson and Russell on the PK.

  3. Reality needed to hit early….lots of work to do.
    They'll get it.
    Thanks guys!
    Happy birthday David!

  4. Nemo had no business being out there right after NJ scored the tying goal. He's inexperienced and too slow to keep up with the Devils. I love Woody, but what a brutal decision.

  5. Ya we threw 2 points away tonight unnecessarily. Shit happens. Can’t win ‘em all. Give Jersey some credit too. Good fast young team.

To Bruce’s point about the ice. We have a puck possession team. And the best puck handling player in the world. Can’t control that fundamental thing on the road, but the ice making crew needs to ensure the ice is good for the home team! They get my bad thing today. Btw I thought the ice was bad in the first few games of the season as well.

  6. While the final score in this game could have gone either way, it wasn't so much the missed chances as it was the puck control that made the ultimate difference in the final outcome and especially in the final minutes of this well fought game. Mind you, that's a lot easier said than done.

  7. From a Devil's fan in Philly…..I loved Ryan Smyth, one of my all time favorite players..but my Devils had payback in store for the 2020 garbage ref induced wins vs us that year …I never forgot….you did not blow the lead, the Devils took it from you

  8. Tough one to lose. Was in the building. Still had a blast.

Learn and move on. Hope they can bounce back and play well Saturday afternoon

  9. As a Devil's fan I'll remind you the Devil's had a couple boneheaded giveaways, Bratt's especially, that led to the Oilers lead. Seems like this game was dead even.

  10. Full marks Jersey. Told my buddy that trading chances w them probably not in the Oilers favor. What a fast , high tempo team they have.
Nemo looking pretty good overall, but all on the coaches for putting him out after the third Jersey goal. Time to play 4 top D to lock down that point.
    HB, David!

  11. A 3-1 lead is never a safe lead. Oilers should know by now to never let off the gas in situations like that.

  12. I don't mean to sound cruel in any way, but watching Yamamoto out there was painful. It looked like he was someone who was granted his Make-A-Wish Foundation wish to put on an Oilers Jersey and play in an actual game, but was in completely over his head, behind the play, steamrolled, and unable to handle the puck at the pace required. This guy makes 3 million bucks?

  13. The Devils played harder for a larger majority of that game. Puck luck favored the Devils; Ceci's chance and the Devils third goal as two examples. David Staples would have three assists or more if he played 10 games with Drai or Connor…Yamo is a mess!

  14. Quit giving up 40 shots per game and expecting to be bailed out by the goalie. This team won't block shots
