I think in this he is saying the habs wouldnt take Michkov not that they would.

Unless the habs are picking like 8th or 9th and he is still there I dont think they would take him.
The team needs a long term solution at centre to go with Suzuki and this draft has 5-6 guys who could go top 10 that fit the bill. They were pretty blatant in the Slaf draft video about talking about team size and the habs already have caufield up front, Farell as one of the more likely prospects to make the top 9 and gally signed long term. That would be 4 5’9 guys or shorter.
Only other way i could see it happening is if Florida also flounders and we end up with 2 picks in the top 10 and we can afford to take that risk and still get Stramel/ritchie/dvorsky.

I would eat a sock if the Habs were to pass on Michkov. They’re not going to draft top 3 anyway, more like top 12 realistically speaking
