Dylan Guenther a officiellement fait la LNH – moins de 2 ans après que son choix au repêchage a été échangé contre OEL, Garland et les 3 décharges contractuelles
This is one of those great days.
Dylan Guenther's family got to deliver the news that he's staying in the NHL. 🥰 pic.twitter.com/feMHWWmZRq

Interesting to see how opinions change over the years. When I said this, I didnt say anything egregious but still got downvoted for not being a fan of the trade.
I mean we never know if we would have chosen him or if he or any other player would develop at the same rate/be given the same opportunity, but regardless this trade was a fuckin disaster.
I’m curious to know where Benning had him ranked on their draft board. Prior to the big trade with Arizona, he mentioned they had 9-10 guys they liked.
Was Guenther not among them, which led to him thinking the 9th pick was more dispensable?
B-b-b-but I thought it took ten years for a draft pick to figure which end of the stick to hold on to????
Is playing for Arizona really making it?
I was so happy for him watching that clip and how great that the Coyotes had his parents give him the good news. But I have to admit this hurts so much as a Canucks fan.
Now we need to drop OEL and Garland for cap space and could sorely use a prospect like that.
Like I have no problem with that trade IN THEORY.
SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAD TO SWEETEN IT WITH A FIRST ROUNDER THO!
If that was what it was going to take then walk away
This trade killed my hope that this group will even come close to winning a cup. All in on being mediocre for the next 5ish years, then needing to do a full rebuild 🙈
