When your losing things can snowball. When your up 5 -2 and your opponent can't stop tripping over its own shoelaces and then suddenly it's 5-4…your waiting for bad stuff to happen. And then it does.

Not that worried as a pens fan. We usually start the season slow every year and every game we have lost this year it was very winnable is we put 100% effort besides the Calgary game

It is really the defense for the most part that is faltering. Dumoulin especially has fallen off a cliff and Sullivan keeps giving him minutes. I think Dumoulin has been on the ice for something like 21 goals against for league worst in that measurement, something crazy like that. Also, Rakell needs to be with Crosby, and Rust needs to be with Malkin, and Sullivan seems addicted to doing the opposite.
In addition to the defense being really a lot worse than expected, the depth just isn't there like it was on paper. Kapanen especially is just astonishingly bad, you would be forgiven for not knowing he was in the lineup because you simply never hear his name get mentioned because he is a ghost out there. Archibald has more goals this season than Kapanen has in like his last 50 games. Lots of problems, hope they can turn it around.

Those first couple games where they didn’t lose in regulation, Jarry looked like a Vezina contender. And now the team doesn’t seem to be playing defense and the goalies are getting hung out to dry. Against Buffalo there were two goals where DeSmith allowed wide open nets off screens. The players in front weren’t moving bodies and DeSmith couldn’t see a thing. I get that sometimes the goalies just need to make a save but I think they’re far from the biggest problem.

I feel like signing all the aging players was a bad bad idea. They needed to shake up the team, but didnt.. ok fine, but everyone knows you need a goalie and Jarry and Desmith arent good enough to steal a game or two when the team is struggling. I like Sullivan, but much more of this and i worry the new owners will make a change. Hopefully they can turn it around!

If this streak somehow continues for 4-5 more games we are going to have to dig ourselves out of a hole and I don't know if we're consistent enough to get it done. Also I think this shows how important Blueger is to our team he locks down the fourth line and pk (which has been horrible)
