I’m gonna have to work pretty hard to wrap my head around these last two.
Top 2 D out and 1/2 of our top 6 forwards. This is getting quite ridiculous.

Lavi needs fired tomorrow morning. Kuzy has zero goals yet. He needs gone. This team is in rebuilding stages unless they can make some major changes and get something rolling. The time frame is very short before it’s deliberate tank.
Last game I go to for a long while. Team is absolute garbage and it’s time to be sellers to accelerate the rebuild.

I think it’s safe to say at this point, It’s gonna be a long season.
Lost to arizona which is embarrassing. Now Orlov hurt. We have no middle 6 due to injuries. But atleast Ov got a goal, and that sonny guy didn’t look too bad.

Embarrassing. This season already feels lost due to the injuries thus far. Will sell my soul for protect Ovi since we may only have the joy of feeding him goals this season.
We are old. We are injured. It’s frustrating.
Also, Kuzy is like a fucking newborn deer out there. So sloppy. Over it.
No offense.
It’s hard to blame the defense when we’ve not been scoring outside of Ovechkin.
We miss Wilson BAD. He makes Kuznetzov much, much better and is a 25 goal scorer himself.
We miss Carlson BAD. Since he’s been out the offense has been horrendous. Yes the defense hasn’t been great but the second he, and Oshie went out, any form of offense we had at one point just totally died.
I’m still not in the Doomer train, because it’s not as if we’ve been playing without effort or without heart, or that we haven’t been in these games. These are games that, if healthy, we have a good chance of getting the 2 points.
It’s entirely been based on the injuries to the forwards. Which every game seem to get worse and worse. Now orlov went out, who knows if/when he’s coming back.
Goalies are outstanding. Defense has been playing fine. Haven’t given up more than 3 goals since the Senators debacle. Offense needs to show up. And it hasn’t so far.
From the 400s Sonny Milano looked like a breath of fresh air. So we got that going for us, which is nice.
What happened to Orlov?
Even though we’re missin dudes this is absolutely not a skill issue. 5th time this year we had a lead going into the third or blew the game in the 3rd leading to an extra time loss.
Yes, there are injuries.
Yes, Arizona played well today and got great goaltending.
Yes, you can’t win them all.
But IDK how the Caps Front Office can look at this game and how the team’s played thus far and conclude this roster is a contender. I thought the sell off might come over last summer, but the Caps doubled-down on this roster by getting Kuemper.
If things don’t change quickly this team could be in an unfamiliar position this spring – that of a trade deadline seller. And I don’t even think that would be a bad thing given a rebuild is inevitable at some point.

I know I’ll get downvoted but Darcy for 5M is looking too much. He lets in soft goals every other game
