The record being broken is outshadowing one detail about this goal. And that detail is credit to how impressive his shot is. He's moving backwards, closer to the boards than he is the dot. The angle he sent this shot at from that spot while moving backwards is so ridiculous. You think from that angle he's either gonna go shortside or put it in the goalies chest but he's able to aim that shot over the far side shoulder and the blocker, all while moving backwards and keeping the velocity of the shot. We as Caps fans have been so blessed.
