Seeing all their smiles makes me happy. I’m sure this win reinvigorated them a lot after their slow start.
His past two games have been really solid. It’s a shame people remember him for his mistakes and not the great plays he makes in pivotal games such as last night, guess that’s the life of a defence first player
Instagram comments are about as positive as you’d assume.
Rightfully so. He played an awesome game yesterday. It’s insane that if he plays with anyone else he forgets how to pass and skate, but then when he plays with Brodie he turns into Doughty. They have a 66% xGF on the year. Impressive stuff, and eliminates the need to acquire a D.
He earned it! I have a group chat with Leaf heads during games, last night we all agreed it was a great game for #3.
off topic: lately when I see videos or pics of the inside of dressing rooms, it makes me laugh about the high school conditions both home and away teams get in Arizona !
Justin Holl is a prime example of a player who is at their best when confident. When he plays with confidence he is a solid second pairing guy.
Players make mistakes but he seems like the kind of guy that beats himself up even more than the fan base and media does. I’m sure gestures like this from the team are going to monumental for him to continue trending up.
He had a good game. 90% of his problem is mishandling the puck and weak passes/clearings. Positionally heas a pretty sound defenceman.
Great to see, this type of recognition will only benefit holl and the Toronto maple leafs.
Say what you want about him, but he takes a beating to make certain plays
I think once he calmed down his offense, which is poo, he turned a corner. Guy is willing to die for this team being stoned to death by pucks. I think this Brodie-Holl pairing is pretty nice to watch, more calmness in the air.
Win or lose, love this team.
Gotta love Hollsy … even when you hate him.
Justin Holl is like Jake Gardiner cranked up to 11. He has some solid games and looks like a stud, and then the next game he’ll slip and fall, only hit ankles when shooting or passing, and give away at least one puck a shift. It’s a wild ride.
he was absolutely excellent yesterday and you can see what a huge part of the team he is
Ok ok hear me out… maybe we DON’T shoot Holl into the sun if he keeps playing like this.
Source: someone who previously said we should shoot him into the Sun.
Guys that play the role Holl plays are often whipping boys. Their mistakes can sometimes be seen by someone who’s never seen a game while their impact can usually only be appreciated by those who really understand the game.
