  1. Another great breakdown. Keep doing what you're doing

  2. I’m new to the channel, and I’m pretty confident in saying you’re Canadian/ jets fan. Is that the reason why there seems to be more bias towards the oilers? Most of this video was breaking them down and talking about them and I was curious if that is the reason why

  3. I completely agree on the DONT PASS UP THE MIDDLE! My high school coach would sit defensemen who passed up the slot or blindly up the middle. If Nurse doesn't do that, goal never happens.

  4. I had the same thought in this game as I did in the Avs/Blues, that the visitor looked slow to jump, gassed, and like they were swimming on the ice in the first game. Look for the Oilers to rebound bigly in game 2,just like the Blues did. My 2¢

  5. First sign of having to say something you know is a lie is taking a big breath before you say it, and likely he was forced to say it by higher ups. Watch the ref take a big breath he's clearly not liking to have to make this call against the Oilers.

  6. Ya know bud, I was sure the Oilers got the muddy end of the stick on that challenge. However as I hear the language of the rule, and see the puck was not in contact with the players stick. I don't like it but, it's a good call. Great job breaking it down for me.

  7. I love all the unofficial Officials after this game, this type of play happens so often. It would become a really boring game if we got rid of delayed offsides.

  8. Dude I'm a huge Oilers fan and you couldn't be more right about the BS non offsides call. If they try to say Makar didn't have possession they are high. Worst part is they got a penalty and AVS scored on it too. Should be like NFL all scoring plays reviewed automatically and not cost a team a penalty . It is what it is. Oilers showed alot of heart coming back. They suck in game 1s lol.

  9. From the rulebook- during the course of the delayed offside, "any member of the attacking team touches the puck, attempts to gain possession of a loose puck, forces the defending puck carrier further back into his own zone, or who is about to make physical contact with the defending puck carrier," the linesman will stop play for the violation."

If makar didnt have possession wouldnt Makar be attempting to gain possession of a loose puck then? Possession or no possession, either way its OFFSIDE.

And you can definitely say that blown call impacted the result. Avs get a goal and a powerplay out of the deal. Brutal officiating.

  10. I'm late to the party on this one viewing after game 2 but as always a great video, even though it sucks as an Oiler fan to watch a breakdown of how the Oilers lost.

  11. Imagine playing a game in which you don’t know what the rules are, or unclear about the rules. The league needs to stick with rules everyone understands. If you have to constantly refer back to the rule book, you aren’t clear on what the rules are.

  12. Possession or ref discretion has nothing to do with the tag up rule. So many of you guys are repeating commentators that mispoke or didnt understand it themselves. Possession only matters if the puck carriers feet cross the blue line into the offensive zone for example skating backwards, or spinning into the zone n then its up to ref discretion on n whether the player possesses the puck for his feet to cross first which by example is generally the players stick must be touching the puck the whole time is the basic rule for most refs.

The tag up rule says only touching or a offensive player is failing to tag which by rule usually says like depending by league (offensive player chasing puck for few seconds 2-5 seconds) i dk the exact rule the chase one if they even have it in the nhl as its more just for safety as if anyone gets hurt it would be for nothing.
