    The only way this makes sense for Florida is if huber said he's walking, but he still had 1 year. I think Panthers do a lot better near the deadline. Gave up way to much.

    This trade is great for both teams. I hope brad talked to huberdeau about resigning before making the trade though. Calgary gets 2 phenomenal players and a solid prospect and Florida replaces their players with the best player in the mix and the younger player. Florida had no possibility of resigning huberdeau and weegar so they chose to get rid of them and acquire one better younger player that can fit under their salary cap

    On paper Calgry won but if I was the panthers I don’t know how would I do better if I can’t extend Huberdeau and Weegar. Selling and tanking won’t work without the 1st round pick next year so trading for Tkachuk is actually a really good move in their situation.

    It's a win for the both sides, because Florida Panthers gets a hot scoring winger and brings more ventran in the offense and Calgary Flames are also winners as well because they got help on defense side getting a defenseman and added another prospect plus scoring offensemen plus a veteran Foward, that's huge right there, Great Trade 👍

    Im a Flames fan, I was floored to find out Huberdeau was part of the deal. I like thank Treliving also managed to get a top 4 defenseman in there.

    Huge return and I’m deeply satisfied. As a long time Flames fan that watches every game I have to give Florida fans a congrats but with a grain of salt. You will tear your hair out a bit watching Tkachuk. He has a propensity to give away the puck trying low percentage plays. He doesn’t play defense much. He falls down more than any other player I’ve seen which makes him late on the backcheck. Finally he also has a habit of disappearing in the playoffs.

    Still might be good for Florida but these issues with Tkachuk are not new and may not be fixable.

    Instant video on the Tkachuk trade and not a single mention of the Hockey Canada Investigation. It’s so hard being a female hockey fan knowing a significant percentage of players and other fans see you as an object, and hockey media burying stories of sexual assault is unacceptable. These stories need to be told so that those responsible can be held accountable so that things can start to change. Blockbuster trades and free agency and quite frankly any hockey news should not be more important than the safety of fans, players, or anyone. I’ve been a long time subscriber but I can’t in good conscience stay subscribed. I wish all the best to you, Grav.

    Calgary Flames made off like bandits. This might go down as one the most lopsided trades in the history of the NHL.

    My question for Panthers fans is, do you have somebody to replace Weager? If yes, I think this is a pretty good trade for both sides

    from a Hawks fan, it seems to me Panthers gave up way too much for Tkachuk, is he better than Hubeardau ??????

    Everyone is so blown away by this, but missing the biggest reason why Florida did this. Both JH and MW are on expiring contracts and were obviously not going to be staying on the Panthers. And if they were both leaving for free agency, I highly doubt Calgary will be their destination lol. They will both also be gone after this year.

    Nobody talks about how good of a core they have

    Like it for Panthers.Tkchuck is 24 and is 4/5 yrs younger then both players .The first made no sense in that deal for Panthers however.Flames did well for cards they were dealt and still have a deep team for their division.

    Panthers are really serious bout winning..I love the trade. Obviously they knew Jonathan wasn't gonna resign..The Flames did get a bunch..But if he don't resign with the Flames..ouch.But The PANTHERS are gonna be strait awesome. Great for both teams. 👏

    Everyone outside of Calgary think Tkachuk is a playoff type player given his playing style but the reality is Tkachuk was totally invisible in every playoff he had played in.

    Huberdeau will want to be traded in the trade deadline. It’s smart to trade him with players that want to play for the flames. We all know he won’t sign long term😏

    I wanted the Blues to get Tkachuk but after seeing what the Panthers gave up I'm glad Doug Armstrong didn't make that trade.

    As a Panthers fan I'm pretty sad to see Hubby go. He was definitely my favorite player.
