This win is very welcoming cos boy this season has been a slow burner for the Caps. Glad we took advantage in the crease but defense… can we PLEASE be more aggressive and quit putting pressure on Lindgren to make hero saves?!
I’m a caps fan. Great win and all but watching mcdavid in just magical. He just dekes everyone so effortlessly. What a player. Ovechkin almost had an insane highlight realer at the end there too
For a couple years now I've been saying the oilers need to work on their defense. I'll say it again, the Oilers need to work on their defense. In fact, their defense needs to be the number one tactic in their strategy. They're relying on their forwards to try to set up goals which come but at a huge cost. The defensemen are weak, the opposition skate right through them and set up dumb goals that can easily be avoided when switching from zone to man to man when needed. From what I can see the defense are lazy. They think that someone else will do their job. It's pathetic to see this pattern emerging again at the beginning of the season. They get overconfident with a couple wins then lose their expectation and strength. It's too bad when they have the best forward duo in the league. They need to trade off one of their or a few defenders and get a strong leader back there. That's why the Av's or Lightening out perform everybody.

PK has cost the Oilers another game.
4 PP goals for the other team is WAY too much for any team's standards.
So either get better at PK… which is not happening fast enough… or STOP taking all these undisciplined penalties.
