There are holes and some warts, as there are with most teams. Those with the least make it to the finals.
The only way this team can prove they are for real will be next spring, right now they can do what they have to do and they played super…during that bruins game, I was not even worried, it was a great team effort. If they only win one round, we still won't be satisfied, this team has to show much more come playoffs, anything less and the whole great season tag will once again mean 0.
I like the winning and heart shown in both games of a back to back but I need to see it again. They need to be able to find that on every game they don't feel it from the first period. That's what matters in the playoffs.

I don’t get what anyone has been surprised by. We’ve had an easy schedule and we play bad against bad teams then we play good against good teams. The problems that make us lose in the regular season isn’t what makes us lose playoff games.
I appreciate the current wins they've had but still in my opinion they should fire Dubas and bring in someone who's won cups before with the experience to build a cup contending team.

Save all your speculation on Leafs. You wont know anything about them until they win or lose first round of playoffs
Now? Yes. Seventh game first round? No. -Never met anyone be so unsure about their team than the Leafs' fans. Other fans don't bother stressing it out after every match during regular season where they are.

I agree with the convo about Freddy Andersen. Watching the game vs Carolina, he was a wall until the last few mins of the 2nd. At the end of the game I was reminded why I'm glad that Freddy isn't the Leaf goalie anymore.

Trust them with what exactly ? Jesse is bang on here, they did this last year. This titles makes no sense as does the premise of it… this team is no different and arguably worse than last year in the playoffs. I don’t get how you can still think this team can make it past the first round. Jesse is right, how can Steve out of all fans be like “wow this is different this year this never happens…” it’s delusional, I’m a Toronto fan btw…
I’d still dump Marner. There are guys out there that play as well (and tougher) for half the salary. He gets his points off the backs of Mathews & Tavares.
Imagine being a recovering gambling addict but ur a die hard leafs fan. You’d literally have to abandon all the games and any media. Ik it’s here to stay but damn. Ik the same can be said about alcohol ads but they’re both bad, and gambling is definitely way more destructive
They need to win 5 or 6 in a row without blowing leads and then they need to win the 1st round and then it's time to believe
Let's circle back to this when the leafs are winning games in April and May
First , and for most I Will watch the Leafs until the bitter end. Until their are serious changes in the office and on the bench, we don't need to worry about the team on ice. My personal opinion is no change equals no playoffs worth getting excited about.
Sub par performances by both Boston and the Canes made the Leafs look better than they actually are.. Once they get back to bottom tier teams they will lull themselves into their usual stupor. This team is going out first round again unless they get an extremely favorable draw.
Prediction:. LEAFS win the most games of ANY team in November and December…. Book it
These guys are straight clowning at this point. The leafs played great against the lightning in the playoffs last year, I truly believe that we were a phantom high sticking call away from a deep playoff run last year. If we win that series we were gonna destroy the panthers, probably beat the rangers then probably lose to the Avs. Steve made a dumb over reaction take saying "this group is done" and now he's doubling down.
