Like the play-by-play said, “[The Wifi is strong in Little Caesar’s arena](https://twitter.com/drakemt/status/1590139537610526721?s=21&t=kA4LsNGmuuMT11OIL98pfA)”. Fun night from Xhekaj so far, stirring shit up ([And taking an interference penalty](https://twitter.com/drakemt/status/1590138024662224896?s=21&t=kA4LsNGmuuMT11OIL98pfA)). Him felling the tree that is Soberblom was a [highlight of the game.](https://twitter.com/drakemt/status/1590158403774865409?s=21&t=kA4LsNGmuuMT11OIL98pfA). Larkin’s going to see WiFi in his nightmares for a while.

As for Slaf… looked alright on the powerplay, but didn’t make it onto the first PP unfortunately. Needs more PP time! Would have done well. [Boneheaded, dangerous play in the 3rd](https://twitter.com/scottmatla/status/1590168007988633601?s=21&t=kA4LsNGmuuMT11OIL98pfA) – can’t do that. The major (and maybe suspension) will be a good lesson for him, I hope. Don’t let this takeaway from some of the positives; his shift with Dadonov and Monahan was excellent.

Overtime was a lot of fun! Guhle’s a monster, we might actually have a defenseman to get excited for. Boo to the [refs](https://twitter.com/drakemt/status/1590167085929619463?s=21&t=kA4LsNGmuuMT11OIL98pfA) for the 1/3rd of the game spent on the penalty kill. And [Suzuki](https://dubz.co/v/b9fafn) / Caufield in the shootout are disgusting. Gutsy, gritty win on the road. Happy for Allen!

No Bedard this year, no playoffs either.
    Win-win..?

  3. Pazzaaaaaa

Mike “analytically best player” Hoffman everyone

  4. ObverseNebula

I know we want to get a good draft pick, but getting all of our players suspended just isn’t the way to do it

  5. geopoison

Great win! Needed that one after the last 3 games!

  6. LakituIsAGod

Long pole Cole and big dick Nick deliver yet again

  7. Not_drunk_cactus

Hey Jake were supposed to be tanking remember?

  8. waytogoscradly

I straight up had to stop watching it tonight due to the reffing. Game management was as real as I’ve ever seen it. They wanted it to go overtime sooo bad. Good on the fellas figuring it out.

  9. Beepimaj3ep

Whoever was reffing that game, I hope the league gives them a talking to because that was god awful. That twice now in Detroit that that’s happened.

Suzuki in shootouts is like me back when they put the deke stick in NHL .. skate up the right side with my right stick pinned to the right and then rifle it home.

As frustrating as it is, winning games like that really helps build the team up. To face all that shit and still pull through. GO HABS GO

  12. DrippingHeart

    Husso be like:

    « Take that full side, I ain’t getting Datsyuk’d »

  13. Imaginary-Low9845

When I saw Drouin in S/O I forgot he was playing this game, probably because he didn’t play much in 3rd and not at all in OT

  14. Brilliant_Chipmunk

Holy shit!!! What a game!!! Allen rocked my world tonight!!! Also, Hoffman you greedy fuck, you nearly gave me a heart attack in OT!

  15. BubbleGumPlant

Slafkovsky and Dach looked really good tonight. My guess is that there is no suspension for Slaf but who knows what the wheel will land on.

Can’t be the only one worried like, if this shoot out go on for a while who else can score …

  19. Thormynd

So , 35-4 pim… we managed to beat both the wings and the refs

Allen has opened the 8th Gate against Detroit tonight

Wings are potential playoff contenders playing an original 6 team with a half empty pizza palace.

That should be enough but half the refs might as well be wearing wings sweaters, a spineless diver captain, and players that can’t skate.

Oh yeah, where’s that bust that was supposed to fill our nets with pucks? Which AHL team’s fourth line is grinding for nowadays? Or is he still recovering from being bodied by a “midget”?

I’m happy with this win but the whole state of Michigan can suck my balls. Hockeytown my ass.

  22. _heybuddy_

That Shootout was ridiculous, even Drouin’s was good.

  23. DarthLordDonkey

In case anyone was wondering, at one point last year we were 6-21-3.

At 6-6-1, that means we could get 1 win in our next 18 games and still be in a better spot than last year after 30.

  24. What a beautiful shit show.

    1st star – Jake « the sneake » Allen

    2nd – The Hoff

    3rd – Gally/Savard n hate for refs.

Honourable mention – Cole and Nick, just having fun scoring goals in shootout.

  25. Habslover

Ive always said Guhle’s offensive upside was very underrated. Hes gonna be a monster and not just defensively.

  26. zzzzoooo

Hoffman and Dadonov are visisble tonight. Drouin is as visible as Pezzetta and Pitlick.

  27. sean_psc

A glorious victory over our traditional archrival, the referees.

Slafkovsky has been adjusting well to the physical play of the NHL in recent games, but this was a bit of a hiccup. No big deal, but all the same, best not to do that.

After that Vegas game, this was just what Allen needed to buff his stats again.
