Bad read by Marner imo. Looks like he took his eye off the puck, didn’t anticipate a quick transition, and took the scenic route back to the middle of the ice and by then it was too late. I also wonder if he didn’t expect Matthews to challenge whoever the D was so closely or that he would be able to pick it off. Bad read leads to a loss but overall felt like we played well. A few bad plays and each one cost us.
These dudes suck in OT. For a glorified skills competition we sure do lose quickly more often than not. Need to see someone like Brodie on the ice right away. We have enough offence, and Rielly can barely play D at 5 on 5 let alone 3 on 3.
