    In particular:

« “Everybody wants the coach’s head,” Kekalainen said. “It’s not that simple.

“We all need to look in the mirror, starting with me and looking at everything we have on the ice. I’m the guy who is responsible for what’s on the ice and the support staff who leads them on the ice. That’s where it has to start, and I’m going to analyze everything we’re doing with my staff.

“The players are the guys who are executing the systems on the ice. They have to be responsible, too. I can guarantee you we’ve been doing a lot of thinking on why we’ve played this badly on most nights.” «

Glad the Jackets aren’t sticking their heads in the sand about the flaws of the team. (Unlike my Yankees UGHHH lolz.) I think everyone’s reading too much into the start though. We’re a very young team, everyone learning the league and each other. Of course there’s gonna be a rocky period. You just have to hope it isn’t long. IMO the only real concerns personnel wise are Gubrandson and general defense efficacy. You get them playing even to baseline NHL standards and the forwards will have the space and time to figure out goalscoring from there.

Glad to see Jarmo take responsibility since he did build the team however….I do not believe the team he put together would be THIS bad under competent coaching. We are young, inexperienced, and are not close to gelling. Some issues can absolutely be solved tomorrow with a better coach. Not talking playoff team, I’m talking maybe not needing 7+ goals to win. A good coach would not have this defense dumpster fire right now. We need noticeable improvement. Jarmo is not stupid, so I’m reading between the lines…he knows our very slim playoff hopes are over already, there is not a coach he wants out there, so he’s going to play it out and get the draft pick. I think we will all be happy and call it the right move if we get a top 3 pick and call it an utter disaster if we do not.

It’s (very) early, but if Chinakov, Kent Johnson, Sillinger, and Marchenko don’t pan out he’s going to be in a lot of trouble
