  1. One thing you didn't mention: Special teams in the Finals.

Tampa on the Power Play: 2 for 19
Colorado on the Power Play: 6 for 16 (plus 1 short handed goal)

If the Lightning had been a little stronger on the PP/PK, we might be having a different conversation right now. It is probably a good thing for Tampa the way they were playing that the Refs pocketed their whistles, as they were doing nothing but giving up special team goals.

  2. such a shame they just fell short of that 3rd cup, was such a joy to watch them play these past 3 years, kucherov became my favorite player and Vasilevsky became my favorite goalie in NHL, hope they can win next year and become a dynasty

  3. In case anyone missed it: Minnesota Wild just traded Kevin Fiala to Kings for 2022 1st round pick and D man Brock Faber

  4. Back To Back Stanley Cup Champs and Three Time Prince Of Wales Trophy Winners. Bolts also won the President Cup just the year before too. Go Bolts! I love my Team!

  5. It was an amazing run for them but I think this might be it for their window. They have to be exhausted and injured heading into next year. 11 straight series wins is impressive but you could see that it was taking a toll on them against the avs.

  6. Pointing out a stat you showed for TB history. Since 2011 8 playoff appearances, 7 conference final appearances. Making it to the conference final every time you are in the playoff except for the round one sweep is crazy. While the 3 runs to the cup is impressive, they have played a lot of playoff hockey the last 8 years.

  7. My whole counter to anyone who says "Covid/Mickeymouse" cup wins. EVERY year during and after Covid lockdown will be a Covid cup. Covid didn't pack it's bags after stopping the whole world and ruining lives just to give the Lightning two cups. Yes, I'm a long time Lightning fan, since 1996. You don't win the games, and hoist the cup for nothing you sacrifice regardless of the circumstances off the ice. If it was so bad they would have canceled the season like they did during the lockout. Bettman tested positive for COVID and wasn't able to present the cup. So if people still test positive and it's still a thing, people and government leaders are concerned about, The Avs have a COVID cup just as much as Tampa does. You can't have it both ways.

Congrats to the Avs. The hockey world got to see another year of someone lifting the cup.

  8. 4 Straight 50+ win opponents in these playoffs. First time a team faced more than 2 in a single playoff run. Unfortunately no cup this year but can't complain after 2 cups and no reason they can't get back

  9. Best effort I’ve seen in the finals. Never will stop believing in this team they left it all on the ice

  10. I guess if Kuch wasn't such a dirtbag i'd feel bad for them. They really did end up being the spoiled rich kids.. so eff em. except maybe stamkos.

  11. hard to believe Killorn was that impotent. he seemed to be a presence on the ice for sure but wow. no numbers at all.

  12. Bolts really unraveled in the 2nd period of game 6. They didn’t look the same. Avs absolutely shutdown that 3rd period.

  13. TB 4 finals in 8 seasons. 2015 may be a long while ago, bit still damn impressive. They lost in the CF a few times too I think, one to the Caps.

  14. Gotta admit I didn't have the Avs winning. By the time Tampa got to the Finals it was clear they were on fumes and were up against a younger, hungrier team who was never really pushed in the playoffs.

  15. One move i can definitely see them doing to get under the cap is moving Ryan McDonagh (assuming he'll waive his NTC). Not only would it clear cap space that they desperately need, but it would also open the way for Sergachev to get a top 4 role on the blue line next year, he for sure looked like he was ready for it by the end of the playoffs. It also may allow them to recoup some of the draft capital spent to get Hagel. I could totally see Edmonton making a push for McDonagh if Keith retires.

Edit: Just wanna clarify I would hate to see him go because he's still a good to great defenseman, but it just feels like it's time and would not just be a short term cap fix with how many years he has left.

  16. One thing tampa really needs to improve is team speed… whatever the case, there were times in the finals when they looked painfully slow, especially the 3rd period of game 6.. and I know this will be unpopular, but I think they could/ should trade kuch, so many times in the finals he was just coasting and not hustling and passing up good shots consistently, and then the end of game 6 temper tantrum he threw..I know he was hurt, but a lot of that half assed lack of hustle was before he was hurt..

  17. Ya tampas cups may "count" but it doesn't mean that they weren't covid cups and faced garbage teams to win the two of them and refs made everything go there way for them to win the two while being 18 mill over cap. Such a special team huh I don't think so and you could see that With how much they whined vs the avs. It was a bunch of baby's throwing there own equipment at the staff what kind of player does that. They don't deserve to be recognized as a dynasty when they can't handle losing like men instead they handled it like 3 year Olds. I don't know how any1 could root for a group of spoiled assholes like that.

  18. Corey Perry agrees to play in COL next year. COL has yet to agree however.

  19. Tampa had numerous deep runs and felt the full effects of the salary cap. I was having a laugh looking at colorado's cap situation. They're about to lose 5-7 players easily from this roster. Including extremely important pieces like Burkovski and Kadri. Colorado about to be plundered by the rest of the league. I expect to see Tampa making another deep run and I would assume Colorado would be playoff bound. However I dont think Colorado will have anywhere near the depth to win a cup again. Tampa showed the won it with and without the depth.

  20. But maybe if you're not going all guns out in some games, and you relent in enough of them and live to win another day, relenting becomes too much like a habit.

  21. As a Habs fan, this run by Tampa is at least as impressive as any of Montreal's most impressive in history.

  22. Prefer the 2004 tampa team.. dont know the succes turned both coach and some players into a bit "different" personalities… it almost seemed they own the cup. And no team or refrees can take it away from them… maybe they will have a worse season next year and comeback after that for the last hurra of stamkos, kucherov

  23. With how ticked they were walking down the hall way after losing game 6. I won’t be shocked if they win it all next year.

  24. Bolts fans knew something was off. The final injury reports was shocking. Numerous injuries to Top players. It’s just a shame we couldn’t have had a healthy TB team, but that’s the thing with playing so much hockey in 3 years.

  25. Guys can someone tell me if Hockey Guy is wrong? Us American fans keep being told a dynasty is 3 cups in 5 years. Hockey guy said 3 in 4 years.

  26. Bolts started winning seasons the same time the Caps were moved to the metro…

Count yes, acknowledge not a chance. Nobody outside of 813/727 respects those “cups”. Besides the virtue signaling no nothings.
