  1. …you have to want to make a player say, "…you know what, that wasn't worth it, I'm out 10-games, I'm a very important player to my team…"
THAT is the key with him, he doesn't care one bit about his team. At the very least, he continues to show that he puts himself BEFORE the team.
He's a pos but I completely agree that the responsibility falls on the league to set a bar of what's acceptable and what's not. And this is arguably their biggest fail.
Look at the playoff series last year with Edmonton… After every whistle E.Kane and other d-bags would take endless jabs with fists/gloves or sticks and the officials would do NOTHING about it, again setting a bar of what's allowed and what's not. I'll take a fight over that petty BS any day. The NHL has a ton of work to do. The sad part is it really wouldn't take much to do to get it right, yet time and time again they refuse to do so.

  2. Sean Avery and Matt Cooke never learned the lesson. I don think MT will ever have the capacity to understand the message no matter what the lesson. The department of player safety is afraid of the the players association that's why they don't pass our the appropriate outcome.

  3. I like Kupari on the offensive side but he has also taken some dumb penalties as well.

  4. Yah it's going to suck Eddie if Byfield plays good in two years when his entry level contract is up and then is looking for a raise or to b traded when he sucked for three years with the kings booo I don't know about that pick I was leaning towards stutzel anyways and cozens when they drafted turcott I think it was that draft or even zegras was a gimme not sure about Blake's choices but GKG always 💯

  5. Great Podcast, very informative and well explained points. (Side Note) Not sure what camera you are using but check the software for Face Recognition/ Eye Auto Focus, will allow your camera to auto focus on your face and look beyond the microphone.

  6. As usual I agree with everything you said today Eddie !
    1) Tkachuk got off easy, should have been
5 minimum, cuz that would actually hurt his team, team could miss playoffs in a tight race without having him for 5 games. 2 games =
    It will happen again !
    2) So happy for Turcotte.
I won’t make a single comment about production for a whole year. All I want is to see him be healthy for an entire year. Great young man
    3) Absolutely Kupari over Byfield. In fact, Byfield didn’t have to prove himself in AHL anywhere near as long as most. I don’t think it would hurt him to prove to be a standout in AHL First before getting handed 3rd line Kings center ! Kupari and JAD have proved themselves far more than Byfield. We got PLENTY of time with Byfield. I wish he would stay in Ontario until he is at the least tearing up the AHL and producing a point per game.

  7. Tkachuk won't change until he gets knocked out or injured. There's no reason for him to change, he can do what ever he wants. Especially against the King's. Who's going to stop him, Anze Kopitar, Drew Doughty, I don't think so. Plus teams have to stop looking for the league to handle stuff like this. Deal with cheap shots, and dirty plays on the ice your self's. Drew whined like a baby, and the next game Calgary played LA, Tkachuk tried knock his head off.

  8. You are so right; should have been a 10 game suspension, which hurts his team & his paycheck. Tkachuk goes to dirty areas & is a very dirty player. In rematch, count on Lemieux to fight Tkachuk. Doughty should also check him very hard or Edler, as a big guy, should check him super hard.
