I'm with Chris on this one – Newhook stands a good chance of being in the NHL 3 stars of the week at some point this year. The kid has all the skills necessary, just needs the confidence now and now that he's gotten the first few points of the season confidence and stats will grow for him. Then when Landy gets back and reinforces that top 6 he could be in for a late season breakout.
@Chris 9 games into the season and your saying "throw in the towel for the Blues"? Seriously?? 9 games? Come on bro…this team is loaded. They will figure it out and be right there with the AVs come January guaranteed. I NEVER look at the standings before December 1st. Mark this comment and lets talk after Christmas.
1st star should have been Karlsson, a defenseman doing that is insane. Also the EA sim engine is probably the same thing in charge of the 3 stars haha it makes about as much sense

Not a Blues fan by any stretch of the imagination, but let's take a very simplistic look at things. Three games only. The Avs play Nashville, Carolina and then St. Louis. For the sake of this example, let's assume they lose all three. I hope not, but you never know. The Avs maintain their point total of thirteen. St. Louis gets lucky in their next three and wins them all. They go from their current six points to twelve points well before Thanksgiving. Sorry, doesn't sound all that far out of things to me. Two or three game win streaks have turned MANY teams around before. Could happen to any team at any time.
