Finally!! I was screaming at the tv and woke up my pug 😆 Happy for the win!!!
The turn around started last game against Colorado. I think this team may have found a groove. Our offense looks a little more dynamic and we’re not so shit on D. It helps that Juice had a great game.
Excited for Persimmon but don’t forget players like Smith and Gross who scored big in their first game for the team and then never kept it up. The easy part is scoring in one game. The hard part is keeping the effort up and maintaining that energy. Hope he can because the was a fun performance.
That said, Cole Smith is pretty solid. Can’t shoot but that’s not really why he’s on the team. He basically lives in the D zone. Him, Jankowski and Sissons isn’t a bad 4th line. People will probably relentlessly hate him forever like they did Hartman (aka for no reason) but I’m trying to appreciate him for what he is asked to do.
Our powerplay is partially broken because of player arrangement and personnel. Multiple times Nino was part of the “umbrella” and Duchene was screening the goalie. If we signed a guy who scores solely from the slot…maybe we should play him there. I get they’re rotating but ffs rotate out of it.
Duchene has been shit so far this year.
