Obviously can’t have that start 9 seconds in. But honestly this game was about staying out of the box. The kings score twice on the power play and win the game. People seem to be not happy over the amount of dump ins. Controlled zone entries are not always possible especially against certain systems that like to lock down the neutral zone like a 1-3-1. Also Ras-Erne- sunny line isn’t going to get as many zone entries as a larkin- razor- suter line. It’s about what you do after you dump the puck in and not dumping the puck in if you don’t have to. Pretty happy with the third period showed a lot of fight and resilience. If the boys can get healthy on this roadie and pick up the next two wins it will be a good trip. Great fight at the end hope the boys carry it into the next game.
In his first 15 games of the season,
Seider 0G 5A
Compared to the first 15 games of recent sophomore dmen with 1st or 2nd place Calder votes the previous year
Hughes 1G 15A
Makar 1G 13A
Dahlin 1G 10A
Werenski 4G 6A
McAvoy 1G 8A
Heiskanen 3G 5A
Fox 1G 6A
Butcher 1G 6A
Sergachev 0G 4A
I can’t stand the whiners in this sub man
Don’t care about the scoreboard, we looked good in the third!
Like the fight at the end but too little too late. On to the next one.
Too little too late. They need to fucking smack Anaheim again and end this spiral.
Honestly I’m not even mad that it was an L, the fact that the boys showed up at the end to try getting shit done is HUGE. I hope that is a sign for more of that in the future
Nice push in the third, but those first two periods were yuck
Well that could have been better, but also could have been worse
I liked the effort in the 3rd. Wish they would play like that the entire game.
Seider played like 20 seconds the last 5 minutes of the game. FeelsBadMan
First 3 goals were all very preventable. Wish we could have got a point out of it but at least we didn’t fold in half after the second.
Nearly 4 minutes of an empty net and we didn’t get a goal against. I’m happy with that
Need Vrana and Bertuzzi
Not a bad 3rd period for the boys. We got a pretty favorable schedule the next 5 games so let’s see if we can get back on track and string together some wins.
I’ma go upside the head of anyone who wants to criticise Dylan Larkin and his heart and leadership at this point.
Winnable game. At least it didn’t spiral out of control. Dump penalties and bad PK cost us the game.
It’s good to see them play well in the third for once, it ended up being a fun game to watch.
Showed some serious life at the end there. These 6 year olds were chirping the hell out of me but we had a good time for sure. LGRW, onto the next one
Just got home. Trying to catch up with the game. Looks like we were competitive?
I like the fight they had in the third, I would have really like it if the whole game was like that, but here we are
Good effort at the end, but that’s the problem. And it’s not like they weren’t trying. The effort was a mental thing, they just played smarter in the 3rd instead of basically making terrible decisions all game.
I know it’s easier said that done, but towards the end of the Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Babcock/Holland era, as the Wings old puck possession style fell apart, I kept wondering how much more successful they’d be if they just focused on shots on goal. Get them any way you can. Imagine if you got 30 shots on goal every single game. You’d probably be a decent team, even if you had more low quality shots than other teams.
Coulda/Woulda/Shoulda buuuut…
If they didn’t allow a score 9 seconds into the game this would have been a far different match.
If we could start every game like we just played in the 3rd, we’d be one of the most dangerous teams in the entire league. Seriously, someone fix why we start every game asleep and we’re good to go.
Can we talk about how we went empty net and it resulted in a goal for US???
Missed the first 2 periods for the ufc. Dont care about a loss. Happy they showed fight. All I want, a team that tries.
You can build off this, not off a 8-2 loss.
Happy (ish)
This team is far better than last seasons team. If we pulled the goalie last year LA would have had at least two goals. I want to say there was a 75% chance the opposing team would score and a 25% chance we would. Despite the odds we kept pulling the goalie over and over despite it not working
Berggren earning some 1st line time!
Make it real hard for them to send you back to the AHL.
Tough loss tonight but hopefully with Bert back Tuesday we can take it too the ducks and then beat the sharks and bluejackets and end this trip 3-1
Alright, it sucks to drop 2 straight but it happens. I’m just glad that this team didn’t completely give up when things started to slip and actually showed some fight down the stretch.
Looking forward to getting Bert injected into this team, and honestly, considering ALL of our missing guys, I think this team has performed pretty damn well
Love larkin. Has heart, balls and leadership
