I guess Keefe reminded them about embarrassing a Leafs legend on back to back nights during the 1st intermission. The second period was great, the first not so much. Zach Aston-Reese should be a healthy scratch next game for taking that dumb penalty away from the play with 5 minutes to go.

Lol I know everyone is making the storyline about how well Kallgren was and being on the back to back but Canucks started Spencer Martin (a goalies who has played less nhl career games then Kallgren) because Thatcher Demko has been a nightmare to start the season and honestly the whole team has been bad overall plus like Steve said it was the 6th time already the Canucks have blown multi goal leads this season. Leafs should have had a few more goals in the 3rd to really start making the team start feeling good about themselves by destroying a team they should but yet again just managing to get by on a 1 goal lead should feel more like a bittersweet victory.

Considering they just barely won this game again a bargain basement team like the Canucks, I feel NO sense of calm or anything from the Leafs.
i dunno but losing to the penguins and barely winning against one of if not the worst teams in the league is very concerning

I grew up watching Salming. I can't describe how good he was, just know we've NEVER had anyone close since. I was emotional both nights, hard not to.
Seeing Salming have that reaction. Melted my heart. He's a true Toronto legend. Sad to see him struggling but all of Leafs nation is behind him

Excellent comment re the contrast between Babcock and Keefe. Nobody between Toronto and here (in Thailand) was sad to see Babcock fired. On the other hand, Keefe's record speaks for itself. Babcock was leading the team backwards, Keefe continues to lead the Leafs forward.
The starting lineup move was Keefe getting back the room. He listens and cares and it goes a long way.
Benn looked good all night. Was skating well, using his stick well, making passes and was in position from what I saw.

As much as I can't help but think Babcock would atleast call players out and not apologize and keep them accountable which this team needs I also can't help to think he would have scratched all Swedish players tonight.

Also, Sheldon Keefe starting Engvall, Nylander, Jarnkrok, Sandin, Liljegren and Kallgren was extremely classy. Keefe actually looked rather emotional on the bench afterwards.
