Huge mistake extending Miller and overpaying for Mykheyev. Could have received something in return for Miller. Mykheyev money does not make sense if you were extending Miller as money was needed for Horvat. New management just as bad as the last guy. They were just about out of cap trouble and could have gone after better defenceman

I have watched this team since the 1970 season and I can count the high points and successes on one hand and still have a middle finger left to extend to the Aquilini Group. We should have know what kind of ownership they'd be when they backstabbed the Gaglardi Group that was supposed to be joint owners and went behind their back. I for one, will not spend one penny on this team merch, or going to games until there are new owners. As for tanking for Bedard, we all know the shithouse luck the Canucks have and even if we come in 32nd, some other team will win the lottery. The Canuck curse.

IMO, Demko played poorly due to not trusting the team (who can?) and he still can’t control the game with any stick handling to speed up the game (with those giraffe DMan). Too passive prior facing shot and too violent after a shot.

Most interesting thing to me was, that we played 4 RHD. Like what? Why the hell was burrows in the lineup instead of giving chance to Rathbone? And another thing, but this might just be me, I feel like Boston and Nux have a lot of similar players like EP and Pasta are both amazing young snipers, Garland and Marchand are players who get under your skin, Bo and Bergeron are both good on faceoff and have very good back check and can score a lot, etc. And our prospect situation is kinda similiar. I feel like only noticable prospects on Nux are Lekkeri, Silovs, Klimovich, EP junior and Lockhart maybe. And for Boston you have Lysell, Keyser, Poitras, Beecher and Lauko. Pretty poor pools you would expect from teams striving for Stanley Cup this year, which Boston is, meanwhile we are at the bottom of the league. So final words, START THE REBUILD.

This is a dandy situation. Rutherford is angry with Bruce. The fans are angry with the managment, and the players do not get along with each other. A true recipe for success. Add the contracts with Miller, Myers and OEL, the upcoming contract with Horvat, the D-line, Demko and last but not least the Vancouver media. Still, the real problem might be the future of Petey and Quinn. If there is not a change in the "structure" (and I do not mean on the ice alone), will Petey and Quinn really spend their whole careers in a team like Vancouver. I doubt it.
I cannot understand why so many are talking about Tank for Bedard. For one thing, the Canucks are terrible, but they are not terrible enough to be last in the NHL. And then, with the luck of this team (started in 1970 when we lost to Buffalo for the 1st pick for the franchise), the team will lose the lottery and draft 3rd if it finishes last. Lastly, I know this is just a conspiracy theory, but with Bettman having NBA roots, who knows if there will be a frozen envelope type incident to ensure that the league-picked team gets the first overall pick rather than the Canucks… there is just NO WAY that the Canucks will ever get Connor Bedard in a Canuck uniform, at least not until he turns 39 and becomes a UFA.
