This move had to be done to offload his contract, but it's sad. Matt Murray the healthy player was pretty good in Ottawa, but as you mentioned he was barely available for us so it was time we moved on. All the best to Matt on his next stop, but hopefully we see the Sens light him up in Toronto now

I THINK MURRAY HATED THE SENS, AND DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY. INJURIES WERE ONLY A SMALL PART OF IT, AND THAT'S WHAT HE TOLD THE LEAFS. HE MAY JUST END UP LAUGHING AT THE SENS. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED SENS FANS. THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO A STORY, AND HE ALSO TOLD THE LEAFS, THAT THE SENS TREATED HIM LIKE ABSOLUTE SHIT!

I recall both fans thinking the GM did a great job last off season.

I was happy when Murray joined the Ottawa Senators but the contract he was given was probably 25% too high. A healthy and consistent Murray would have been great but it wasn't to be. I'm still very surprised this trade happened; I was still expecting Murray to be playing in Belleville this season.
Murray is still a solid g but when we signed Forsberg to an extension it was basically the writing on the wall…we need to re-sign Norris, Joseph and formenton…then Pierre needs to trade Connor brown clearly he's not gonna sign with the team next year…j.t miller would be available if we give a 1st or 2nd round pick n prospect like Lassi or Jacob Bernard docker
I know j.t miller is also a Ufa next year…but this is the year to make the push for the playoffs and see what happens…2017 was a great year n we need more of that
Imagine having a top 9 line up of Tkachuk, Norris, Batherson… Debrincaaat, Stutzle, Formenton… Joseph, Giroux, Miller…that would be some skill, speed and grit…give pinto some time in Belleville
The way I see it is the Leafs have been dumping trash to the sens for a lot of years now, sens were due to get em back. The only thing the Leafs can hope for is he doesn't clear medical and goes straight to LTIR for which the Leafs will have gotten picks for nothing.
