He deserves it. It was a dangerous, selfish hit. I don’t care what Dubois said and did to « deserve it » like some of you have suggested. A sucker punch to the back of the head with 30s left is not how you resolve it. For multiple reasons.
$2,500 is pocket change to these guys. I guess it’s enough to send the message though.
Well deserved. He’s lucky it wasn’t a suspension. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s scratched for a game anyway.
While I’m not surprised by this particular decision, I’m am curious why league didn’t look at the boarding happening by both teams. I mean, they weren’t called in the game, but uncalled plays have been looked at before. This game got out of hand.
Soucy made a boneheaded play here and earlier this season. With Lauzon gone and Borgen cleaning it up compared to last season, I guess someone had to fill the stupid quota.
Soucy, you’re better than this.
Such a disappointing ending to the game. Soucy was and still is one of my favorites, but that was such a dumb, stupid move. A completely pointless penalty with less than a minute left in the game.
I was cracking up watching the broadcast, though. Eddie and JT were saying « Dubois *had* to have done something! » It didn’t seem like they were making excuses, but they just couldn’t comprehend why Soucy would just sucker punch him like that at that moment.
