Terrible news all round, but if it’s that bad I think it’s best he just hangs the skates up. No point risking a serious injury when you have a young family. He’s won a Cup and will definitely be remembered fondly by Leafs and Kings fans!

Jesus. Hockey players are warriors renowned for playing through pain. But A good general rule of thumb is to not fuck with things that have lasting quality of life impacts like spine head neck. Or things that cause debilitating long term issues. Look at Oscar Klefboms shoulder issue as a good example. Got to point he couldnât sleep from pain due to playing hockey.
Hope he rests up well and gets back to 100% before he skates again.
