   « The offensive zone is not the only place Carlsson has been shining. His transition results are easily among the very best I’ve tracked in European professional ranks over the past few years. While he was already competent in advancing the puck up the ice with control, the improvements are crystal clear.

   Last season, Carlsson completed around 10 controlled entries and around 4,5 controlled exits per 60 minutes. This season, he’s boasting around 13 controlled entries and 8 controlled exits per 60 minutes.

   Carlsson’s transition volume is among the highest in the SHL forward data set, but his efficiency is the thing that sets him apart from the rest. He’s basically never opting for an uncontrolled play, almost always trying to advance the puck with control by either passing or carrying. He’s also retaining possession with almost 75 percent of his transition attempts (both entries and exits) – an absurdly high mark that no other SHL forward in the data set even comes close to. »
